My HP compaq nx6110 windows xp sp3 hangs at boot

Take a look at this post that deals with a HP nx6110 laptop with random freeze ups. If the described symptoms also happen on your laptop. If you do experience random freezeups or slow DVD you're facing the same FSB chip problem. All peripherals, USB ports included, are connected on the Front Side Bus. Poor soldering causes intermittent contact which in turn results in hanging, slow, or totally non bootable (stuck at HP logo) laptop. Hope this helps.

There's a selection on that screen for "last known good configuration" - try that, sometimes a driver that has been recently installed can cause a machine to crash on boot. If that doesn't help, you can attempt to boot from the installation CD that came with the computer and repair the system. Boot from the install CD, select ENTER in order to continue with the setup program (trust me, we're not going to do a full setup, but you have to choose the first option here...). More files will load from the CD - the next screen should be the repair screen - it should say "To repair the selected Windows XP installation, press R" - press R, and the repair should begin. Reboot after it's done.

Please rate this answer if it's helped you out, thanks!!

ASUS eeePC 900 Keeps rebooting at XP load screen.

You're computer is booting that's not your problem. Its just not booting into Windows which is a different subject, so a boot disk will not do you any good. You have some corrupted files at the Windows end not the start up end. The only way to correct the Windows corrupt files is to use a Windows disc. So you'll have to buy/borrow a portable DVD/CD player and a copy of windows. Once the Windows disc loads then its just a matter of clicking on "repair" when the disc asks..that one of the drawbacks of netbooks..If you have any questions let me know..

Try removing your AGP card and enabling the onboard graphics again. It is possible your Radeon is a 3.3v, but this board only supports 1.5v cards. Take a look at the manual at ftp://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/D845GERG2/BV2RG2_English.pdf

Asus laptop NTLDR missing

Hi supertwins,
Once you deleted the drive C: (You have trashed the operating system.
You're Asus driver CD will not help you at this stage.
Did you receive a restore CD? If yes you load that into the CDROM drive & boot to the CDROM.
(You do not have a restore CD)?
Than you are left with the Windows CD. Load the windows CD into the CD-ROM drive. Power up the notebook. Start pressing the F8 key on the keyboard. Soon you will see a screen that says: Please select boot device: Choose the CD-ROM drive that has the windows CD in it. High light the CDROM & press enter key. Windows should start to load. Follow the instructions on you're screen & install windows. During the install windows will restart & you will see: to load from CD press any key... (DO NOT TOUCH anything! Allow windows to continue all by it's self.
This same screen will come up at lease twice. (Just let it go).
When windows has finished you can than remove the windows CD & load the Asus CD into the notebook. Install all the software on the Asus CD. When finished installing the software from Asus, update windows through windows update service.
Good Luck!

Mike
