Where is the belt located on this model? Where do I access the belt from?

The belt is usually located from the access panel. You just take the front panel off of the dryer and you can access for the belt.

My dryer drum will not turn...."how to change your dryer belt"

There are many styles and different models of dryers but the one thing they all have in common is the dryer has a belt that turns the drum.In the procedure below we will show you how to take apart your dryer, change your belt, and show you the correct threading of your belt. Here is a typical Kenmore dryer idler pulley(it has a plastic wheel on it) motor/pulley (the pulley is attached to the backside of the motor) and the belt configuration.Note the picture below.
Each different model dryer also has a different lint trap location. This location will have a bearing on how your dryer is taken apart and how to change your belt.

Note the location of your lint trap and choose the correct video on how to take your dryer apart. There are two different locations,on top,and in the door.

This video will show you how to take apart your dryer and change your belt if the lint trap is on top of your dryer

This video will show you how to take apart your dryer and change your belt if the lint trap is inside of your door.

Want a wiring diagram for hotpoint dryer, mod#DLB2750BAL.ser#AD 209876H dryer wont run after starting

Make sure the belt is good. These dryers have a belt switch located near the motor. If the belt is broken the dryer will not run.The belt switch could be bad also. Also check the door switch.
Verify 220 volts of power at the terminal where the cord attaches to the dryer.

Diagram for setting up belt on drum tenion

Replacing the Belt
  • Step 1 Put the dryer door-side down on the floor. This allows easier access to the back.
  • Step 2 Locate the center pivot suspending the dryer drum. If held by a clamp, removed any nuts or screws retaining the pivot axle.
  • Step 3 Move the pivot out of the bracket and slide the new belt inside the bracket.
  • Step 4 Replace the drum pivot in the bracket and reassemble the bracket.
    Looping the Belt
  • Step 1 Flip the dryer up so it is once again sitting upright.
  • Step 2 Locate the groove or wear mark the previous belt left in in the circumference of the drum.
  • Step 3 Wrap the belt around the drum in this groove or wear mark, with available slack at the bottom of the drum.
  • Step 4 Wrap the belt around the drive wheel located on the drive motor in the lower corner of the dryer.
  • Step 5 Insure the belt is snug but not biting the drive wheel. This indicates the proper size belt is installed.
  • Step 1 Reattach any clips or wires to the back cover.
  • Step 2 Reattach the back cover using the six-sided sheet metal screws removed earlier.
  • Step 3 Reattach the top cover. Close tightly so clips secure the cover.
  • Step 4 Plug in the dryer and turn it on to test the belt repair.
  • Step 5 Reattach the dryer vent conduit

I need to replace the belt in my GLER341AS2 model Frigidaire dryer. How do i open up the dryer to do so?

Unplug the dryer and using a 1/2 inch pait scraper locate the spring loded clips holding the top down to the front of the cabnet. They are located about one to two inches from the front corners of the dryer.
Lift the top and rest it on the wall behind the dryer.
Looking inside the dryer locate the screws holding the front panel to the cabnet and remove the screws.
Mark the wires to the door switch and remove.
    Remove the front panel.
Go behind the dryer and remove the small rear panel near the bottom of the dryer.Observe how the belt is attached to the pulleys.Release the tention on the belt by moving the belt tentioner and sliding the belt off the motor pulley.
Go to the front of the dryer and grab the belt on the top of the dryer drum. Holding the belt lift the drum straight out holding the drum with the belt.
Check to see if all the rollers are in good shape and rotate freeley. Oil if needed.
Check to see if the teflon gliders located on the front panel that hold the drum are in good shape. Replace if needed.
Vaccum the inside of the dryer.
Put the new belt over the drum and line the drum up and install back into the dryer.
Put the front panel back on and reinstall the two screws.
    Replace the door switch wires.
Make sure the grooves on the belt are flat to the dryer drum
Put the top down and go behind the dryer'
    Locate the belt.
Pinch the belt and insert it under the tention pulley and slide it over the motor pulley. Make sure the belt is positioned straight and located where the old belt was positioned on the drum.

I have my kenmore 80 series dryer apart, and i am replacing the belt. having trouble configuring the belt around the pulley and motor, since the belt cannot actually go into the pulley, its sealed. help.

Kenmore dryers are configured in several different ways as far as the location and routing of the dryer belt. For drawings of how the belt is configured on your dryer, go to and click on the "Repair Help" link. On the following page locate the "Dryer Belt Diagrams" link under the "Special Features" section. Scroll down to the Kenmore section and refer to diagrams H, B, or K. If you are not certain, please post back with your complete model number (located on a nameplate around the door opening) and I can determine for you. I hope this helps you.

Not working, theres power but nothings working? belt maybe, where is the belt located? If not what els could it be? and where would that be located?

There should be a trouble door in the back so you can see the belt. If the motor is not running, I would check the door switch first. The site has parts and help.
