Dell (ie optiplex 330) would not boot with the orange light on

We purchased about 12 Dell (i.e. Optiplex 330) computers and for some time now, they have all broken (can't start with the orange light on)

Do you have a lot of accessories plugged in? They may have overloaded the power supply and if this is the case you will need to buy new power supplies. If this is not the problem, check to make sure that the computers have plenty of ventilation in the back. If they don't, they may have overheated and melted quite a few different components.

It could be one of two things, either your monitor is bad or the video card is bad. Try taken connecting your monitor to a different computer. If the monitor works then it the video card. You could just purchase a new video card and put in and it should work

How can I solve a problem with my Desktop "Dell 330 OPTIPLEX" which lights orange on the power button when I try to power up my computer?

Hi

The symptom you describe indicates a power issue, the most likely cause the PSU in the unit is failing, if you have a lot of USB devices connected try removing some of them, You could also try removeing all connected devices other than monitor keyboard and mouse and see if this will allow it to boot, but the most likely fix is going to be a new Power Supply unit.

Switching problem

If the power light is flashing either yellow or orange and you do not hear any fans turn on, your power supply is defective. Contact Dell if you are still under warranty and if not, there are many 3rd party sites, like http://www.pcconnection.com, that you can purchase a new one.

Good luck to you.

My dell optiplex 330 can not switch on, whan I put power on I get orang light only.

If you are getting an amber light flashing, your power supply is faulty.

If it is a solid amber light, you motherboard is faulty or one of the componants are faulty.

I would suggest giving Dell a call. They would beable to pin point the problem and give you a quote. Some of their componants are non standard and can only be purchased from them.

You could try reseating all your componants on the last resort but it is unlikly to help.

Optiplex 330 desktop computers with start up problems, why?

Do you have a lot of accessories plugged in? You may have overloaded the power supply, and if that happened then you will need to buy more powerful power supplies. If that's not the problem, they systems may have overheated if they don't have enough ventilation in the back.
