If proper voltage to appliance then faulty thermal cutout. Part number LA1053.
just to confirm remove the two white wires from thermal cutoff and jumper them together, be sure no wires are touching any part of base when doing this.. If fires up then install the LA1053.. check vent usually this causes this part to fail...

Verify 220 volts to the terminal block where the cord attaches.
Check the door switch for continuity.
Check the thermal fuse on the right hand side of the heating element just below where the heater wires connect.
You may need a flashlight to see this fuse.

It most likely is the thermal fuse.
If so correct any vent blockage or you will blow another fuse.
The fuse comes in a kit including the hi-limit switch.
Replace them both.

Those sensor bars can become faulty and that is probably the problem. Try cleaning them off with a clean rag. Good Luck!

My dryer will only work on the timed dry cycle only and still takes along time to dry did clean it out by lifting the top up can't get the back off because of the fake screws. the dryer is a performa model...

check to vent or remove the vent and see if it will work...if the vent is plugged it will take a long time to dry and sensor dry will not work...

Have maytag performa takes 2 too 3 dry cycles to get clothes dry

if the unit heats and turns the problem you have is in the duct , kink behind the unit or a clog of lint in the duct on its way outside.

Dryer not heating as it should. Gets warm, but takes several cycles to dry clothes

Could be 2 things... either your heat source is out of repair or your vent is blocked. Since you say it only gets warm I'll assume the problem is with the gas coils inside the unit. These parts are replaceable
