Question about Acer Aspire 3680 Laptop

1 Answer

For christmas i had a new sound stereo which enables me to plug in a aux which is the same connector as headphones but doubled ended so i could link my laptop with the sound system.Because my built in speakers and microphone were distorting the sound we set about turning the built in speakers off by going into control pannel, sounds and disabling what i needed however this stopped all sound. Then thinking i would be able to do the same to turn them back on i realised that the devices had disappeared off the list.I cannot seem to find a way to turn them back on even after research on the internet. If this helps my laptop is a E-SYSTEM and is on VISTA. Do you know the solution to my problem as really a laptop without sound is useless to me or do i have to take it in to comet or somewhere ?

How do I connect an iPhone or iPad to a marantz sr-68 receiver. The receiver is around 16 years old but produces great sound with the speakers hooked up to it

You need a cable that has a 2.5mm stereo connector on one end and two "RCA" connectors on the other end. Plug into the headphone connector on your device, and the other end to the back of your receiver's "aux" input.

How do i connect my iPod to a Pioneer Car Stereo

It is advisable to listen to your iPod through headphones while driving in the car. Not only is it dangerous to completely cancel the sounds of the road as it is often illegal in many cities across the country. There is an alternative, however. In just a few steps you can use your iPod to your car stereo speakers and use the car to listen to your music, podcasts and audiobooks. No brand car stereo makes it easier to connect these beautiful than Pioneer.

1. Connect one end of the mini-jack on your iPod headphone jack. Once done, set your iPod or on your dashboard or your car seat so that it will not tip over while driving.

2. Find your sound system's auxiliary input Pioneer. It is often located in front of the front panel stereo, but can also open the front or back of the unit completely. If the extra connector on the back of the stereo itself, then you remove the panel. When it comes to this, see the instructions that came with your sound system is provided for further guidance.

3. Connect the other end of the cable mini-jack for stereo aux port. This will allow your iPod to the audio signal through the cable to the stereo and the stereo signal will pass to the car speakers. Most often, when something is plugged into the stereo aux jack will work in stereo. In some models a setting to select the additional connection. Whatever the case, now you can sit and enjoy your iPod for that long car ride.
Hi, want to listen my iPad or my phone on Technics stereo amplifier SE-HD350 but when I connect my aux cable on the front where it says phone it doesnt work and I bring the input selector to ext. could you...

The "phones" connector on the front is for headphones. You need to connect to the "aux' or "line" input which is usually on the rear of the receiver. It is usually 2 RCA jacks so you'll need to get a patch cord with a 1/8" mini phone plug on one end a (2) RCA plugs on the other end.

I want to connect my ipod to the radio

According to Apple, over 90 percent of new cars retailed in the United States are equipped with iPod connectivity.
The iPod has become such a popular device, that many car stereos are now furnished with a 30-pin dock connector cable in order to link to the portable media player.
But this built-in compatibility is not essential for connecting your iPod to your car stereo. In fact, there are numerous options for integrating your iPod with your car.
Recently manufactured vehicles can support an iPod connection through an auxiliary input.
And FM transmitters can be used to stream your iPod's audio files through an FM frequency. iPods can even be connected to much older car stereos with the use of a tape adapter.

Connect an iPod to a Car Stereo Through the Auxiliary Input
Insert an extension cable with 3.5 mm stereo connectors on each end into the headphone output of your iPod. Insert the other end of the 3.5 mm stereo connector cable into your car stereo system's auxiliary input. Press the "Aux" button on your car stereo. Turn on your iPod and select media to play. The stereo will now stream audio from your iPod. b> Connect an iPod to a Car Stereo With an FM Transmitter Insert the FM transmitter into the 30-pin dock connector of your iPod. Turn on your iPod to activate the FM transmitter. Select the FM frequency you want your device to stream audio to on your car stereo. Turn on the car stereo and tune it to the same FM frequency as the FM transmitter attached to your iPod. The stereo will now stream audio from your iPod. b> Connect an iPod to a Car Stereo With a Cassette Adapter Plug the jack connector of the cassette adapter into the headphone output of your iPod. Insert the cassette into the car stereo. Turn on your iPod and select media to play. The stereo will now stream audio from your iPod.

I have got a sh-eh500 technic stack stereo, I want to plug Y Cable so can put Iphone through speakers, where do I plug this cable on the back of stereo please? :)

As long as your lead has 2 RCA connectors ( These are usually one red and one white and look like a fat headphone connector with a tube round it) These will plug into the "Aux" connectors on the back of your Amplifier. Then select "Aux" on the Input selector on the front to listen.

Hope this is useful. Good luck.

No sound on my dell optiplex 330

Unless you have headphones, you need speakers, preferrably amplified speakers.
Another way the address the issue is to use a cable to connect your computer to your home stereo if it has an auxilery input (aux/cd/tape input) then all you need is a cable with two male RCA plugs on one end and an 1/8 inch stereo plug on the other end.
The 1/8th inch plug goes into your computers' sound "out" and the rca's go into the aux/cd/dvd "IN" on the stereo.
this cable can be purchased for under 10 dollars at walmart, though amplied speakers wont be much more expensive.
Hope this helps you decide which direction to go..
Regards..

Zune problem

ok first off, you need to set your stereo system to aux....remember aux the zune is not a cd player.
depending on the brand of stereo system there is a setting were you can change it from cd, to radio and AUX. SET IT TO AUX
do you have a stereo head phone jack on your stereo system, if you do a much better solution is getting a double sided audio cable and plugging the zune directly into the head phone jack to your stereo system it costs maybe $10 for a good gold plated phillips

what i mean just incase you didnt understand is you need a double sided plug for the headphone jack, this plugs into most stereo systems

Can't get ipod to play on Panasonic SA HT-940 System

I have a panasonic home theatre and my ipod connects in the front of the system. The cable is basically a headphone cable with the same JACK at either end. In short the system is the headphone but you don't put it in your ears!!. You can pick these cables up from virtually any electrical retailer for less than the price of a pint!

Playing ITunes from my dell Inspiron 1300

I have a cable made of
- a 1/8" stereo plug (male) to stereo RCA (female)
- 6' stereo RCA cable (male/male)

Plug the 1/8" into the headphone jack of the laptop and the RCA end into the AUX on a stereo/amplifier...

That gives you one room anyway.
