Question about Xerox WorkCentre M-24 Color Copier

1 Answer

We have 2 minor problems we are trying to solve

#1 We would like to reduce the paper waste in our office. How do we stop the page that comes before the work I believe its called a banner sheet.
#2 Our printed work comes uot in the middle of the machine. It used to come out on the top. What did we do...how do we undo it LOL.
thank you!

I am going to have to send your answer in multiple parts since the procedures are lengthy, You have to turn the banner sheet off on BOTH the machine and driver. The procedures you need will follow. In several parts. Sounds top secret doesnt it LOL....
How to disable it on the machine.

  1. Press the [Access] button (key symbol) on the Control Panel. The System Administrator - Password Entry screen will be displayed on the Touch Screen.
  2. Enter the administrator password using the numeric keypad on the Control Panel, and then select [Confirm] on the Touch Screen. The System Administrator Menu screen will be displayed.

NOTE: The default password is 11111. Your password will be displayed as an asterisk (*). If you make a mistake, press the [Clear (C)] button and re-enter the password. If you want to cancel the operation, select [Cancel]. If the administrator encounters a problem with changing the access code, or forgets the code, a service call must be placed.

  3. Select [System Settings]. The System Settings screen will be displayed.
  4. Select [System Settings] again.
  5. Select [Print Mode Settings].
  6. Select [Others].
  7. Select the [Banner Sheet] (option 3).
  8. Select [Change Settings]. A list of options will be displayed.
  9. Select [Off] to disable the Banner Sheet.
  10. Select [Save].
  11. Select [Close] three times.
  12. Select [Exit] to exit.

Disabling the banner sheet on the driver requires you to go to your computer and click on control panel then printers.
Sadly I cant tell you exactly where to go, because the PS , PCL5 and PCL6, and Netware, and web drivers are set up differently. BUT that being said, right click on the printer once you see it on the screen, and click on properties. Then search for banner page and disable it.
NOW, Please so you don't make yourself insane and start needing tranquilizers, if the machine is on a network with several computers. Disable the banner sheet on EVERY computer connected. The M24 is famous for enabling the banner sheet on the machine if anyone prints one. Its a software issue, and most versions enable the banner sheet if any computer selects it.

The answer to your second question. You will select print not copy mode.
The other thing you can do is this. At your computer , select your browser, IE, firefox etc, and in your address box type in the printer IP address, the Xerox centerware software will display all the printer and its properties on the screen, you can set if from there.
That is a nice feature , hope this helped.

    1. Press the [Access] button (key symbol) on the Control Panel. The
System Administrator - Password Entry screen will be displayed on the
      Touch Screen.

    2. Enter the administrator password using the numeric keypad on the
Control Panel, and then select [Confirm] on the Touch Screen. The
System Administrator Menu screen will be displayed.

      NOTE:
The default password is 11111. Your password will be displayed as an
asterisk (*). If you make a mistake, press the [Clear (C)] button and
re-enter the password. If you want to cancel the operation, select
[Cancel]. If the administrator encounters a problem with changing the
access code, or forgets the code, a service call must be placed.

    3. Select [System Settings]. The System Settings screen will be displayed.

    4. Select [System Settings] again.

    5. Select [Copy Mode Setting]. The Copy Mode Setting screen will be displayed.

    6. Select [Copy Defaults].

    7. Select [Output Destination].

    8. Select [Change Setting].

    9. Using the numeric keypad, enter one of the following settings:

      • 0 = Center Output Tray or

      • 2 = Finisher Tray

NOTE: The default is 0; Center Output Tray. The optional Finisher must be installed to use the Finisher Tray.

    10. Select [Save].

    11. Select [Close] three times.

    12. Select [Exit].

I am trying to print onto pre-printed forms which have a dark blue band at the top. My printer isn't recognising that the band is there so is starting to print too far down the page. Help please!

This type of problem can usually be resolved simply by adjusting the margins from within your word processing program. Depending on which word processor you are using you can go into the page setup and make these changes. For Microsoft Word go to the "File" tab at the top then to page setup. The first tab that comes up will allow you to change the margins on the page. If the print is too far down try reducing the top margin from one inch to 0.5. If that is not enough reduce it some more. Print test pages on regular paper, then hold them up to the light against the paper with the pre-printed band to see how the print lines up. That way you don't waste the expensive paper!

My 1310 prints a test page each time I turn it on. I don't need one. The alignment is very good. I don't want to waste paper if possible. I use hp all in one paper to print from my laptop. How do I...

thats not the test page my friend that is the allignment page what you are getting out again n again.you just place that printed side of the paper on the scanner glassand then press the scan button in your printer the-- on --light will blink for sometime and then stops that means the allignment is complete.and it will never come again till you replace that particular cartridges.
it is also given on that page which comes out what to press with proper diagrams also see that for proper idea.do not do any thing in your computer till that period.it should only be done with the printer.

A paper jam has occurred. To solve the
problem, see “Clearing Paper Jams” on
page 6.3.
• The front or top cover is opened. Close the
front or top cover.
• There is no paper in the tray. Load paper
in the tray.
• The waste toner container is not
installed or full. Check the container.
• Your system has some problems. If this
problem occurs, contact your service
representative.
  • Also i can indicate that the Toner Cartridges are empty and need replaced with Genuine Samsung Cartridges
