Try installing the latest audio driver.
Download the drivers from the Acer WEB site. Make sure youselect the model of your laptop and the XP or Vista version of the drivers youthat require and it matches the Windows version that is installed on yourlaptop. If you are using Win XP Operating System, you might need to install MSUAA before instaling the audio driver, or you can do installing manually. Go to start>Run>Browse>My Computer>CD Drive>SW2>Audio>double click SET UP
