Model ESL 499. Why doesn't it start?

You have activated the delayed start function. Please read following instruction from user manual.

8. Delayed Start button

Allows the start of the programme to be delayed by a minimum of 1 hour, up to 9 hours. How to set the delayed start When the button is pressed, the number appears in the display (4). Press the button again to select the number of hours by which you wish to delay the programme start, up to a maximum of 9. E.g.: if you have selected number , the wash programme will start in 2 hours' time. To cancel the delayed start set, press the button until the number appears. Close the dishwasher door to start the countdown: a long audible signal (about one second) informs you that the function is active. If you open the door again you will see, in the display (4), how long there is to go (in hours) before the programme starts. A flashing dot in the digital display means that the delayed start function has been activated. Opening the door has no effect on a countdown which has already been started. If, during the countdown, you wish to see the programme number selected in the display, press the Programme Selector button (5). If, after having started the countdown by closing the dishwasher door, you wish to cancel the delayed start, press button (9) (Cancel) for about 2 seconds until the short «instruction accepted «signal is heard».

My washing machine is only beeping and all lights flashing

I don't know the make or model number of the unit, but most likely the beeping and/or lights flashing is a digital error code being displayed. I need more info to better help you with your issue. If the lights are blinking in a pattern(ex 2 blinks followed by 4 blinks) or certain functions are blinking in a pattern over and over, that is an error code display which must be interpreted. The machine is trying to tell you where the problem is.

Reset drum

Hi there!

To reset the drum light you need to press the following keys in sequence with 4 seconds for the initial 4 keys
Step 1: You need to press "C" then please press the far left key ( called exposure mode key) then press the "C" key then the far left key once again.
So the sequence is -- C, far left, C, far left.
Note: Some model utilize two other initial codes, you might need to use one of those two alternate codes to get your display to go blank. The remainder of the procedure is absolutely the same.
The alternate codes are as follows: #, * , C, * or pound key ,star key, C, star key and also #, Interrupt key, C, Interrupt key.
If done correctly the display will go blank.
Then type in 24 as if you are going to print 24 copies of something.
Then press the "print" button.
Then type in 7 as if you are making 7 copies
Now press the print button once again.
You will now get flashing zero's on the display of the unit.
Turn the machine off and then on again and your drum light will be gone.

All the lights on my HP 1350 printer are blinking and it will not print. Normally where you could put the number of copies i " E" is in thaat spot.

In addition to providing information about current tasks, the lights on the front panel can also indicate error conditions, as described in the table below:
If the On light, Check Print Cartridge light, Check Paper light, and Start Copy, Black and Start Copy, Color lights are all flashing, do the following:
1 Verify that the front-panel overlay is attached to the HPPSC.
2 Turn your HPPSC off and on by disconnecting the power cord and reconnecting.

Alternatively,

All ights blinking: An error caused the HPPSC to stop functioning.
1 Turn the HPPSC off and then on.
2 Restart your computer.
3 If the problem is not corrected, unplug the HPPSC and plug it in
again.
If the problem persists, contact HP.
