Please Help - X-Gamer & S4 MidiLand 8200

By Reynolds - usenet poster

Hey!

I've just got Midiland 8200 speakers and I'm trying to hook them up. I
want to use the digital coaxial output from sound blaster. I'm using
RCA - mono mini jack cable. I connected everything and I don't hear
anything. In the speakers menu I've check digital out, and 5.1
speakers, in the ADS-2000 decoder digital input.
Everything works OK when I use analog R/L RCA outputs on the audio
card. What can be wrong? Audio card, cable, ADS-2000 decoder? I
reinstalled drivers, but it didn't help...

Help anyone?

You are plugging the minijack into the right jack right (last one, next
to the gameport)?

You might also try another minijack/RCA adapter/cable. I had trouble
with an all metal Mono adapter - I switched to a stereo minijack/RCA
cable and it cleared up most of a hum problem I was having...you can
only use the right channel for the digital connection.

When you get it connected - let me know if you hear a hum through your
speakers when you have the digital cable attached to the ADS2000...
