Question about Lockey Keyless Mechanical Digital Spring Latch Door Lock Super 8 ANTIQUE BR

Broken door spring on dishwasher

I have a DU7800XS-2 dishwasher with a broken spring. I have purchased a new spring but can't seem to attach it. The spring is about 4" long with a detachable rod through the center and a loop at one end. On the underside of the washer are notches (3) which obviously is supposed to receive the looped end. Very tight clearance so am wondering if I am supposed to pull the unit out or can I connect underneath without removing?

Loud noise from dishwasher door. then no resistance. what could this be and can it be repaired

It sounds like you may have a broken door spring. You will have to take off the bottom panel and with a flash light you can look to see if one of the springs came off or broke. If the spring is broken you will have to purchase a new spring and replace it.

Broken door spring on kitchenaid dishwasher

Hello,

Please read our safety information before attempting any testing or repairs. Before repairing the door springs, unplug the dishwasher or shut off the power at the fuse box or breaker panel to avoid an electrical shock hazard.
The door opens and closes with the aid of springs. If the springs (or the cables that connect them on some dishwashers) break, the door will drop open hard. The door will also be heavier when closing. If the door drops open, it may also bend the door hinges out of shape resulting in a door that does not close properly and possibly leaks.

When replacing the springs or cables, all of them should be replaced at the same time.
To access the door springs and cables remove the lower panel located beneath the door. The panel is usually held in place with two screws either above or below the panel. It may be necessary to first open the door to the dishwasher to get to the screws over the panel, then close the door to remove the panel.
There are two common types of spring assemblies. One type connects the springs from a hook on the dishwasher cabinet of to a tang on the door hinge .

Dishwasher door drops hard when opened.

Sounds like one of the doors springs is broken or has come detached from the dishwasher housing frame. If you have a plain dishwasher door, ie one that does not have a wood panel matching your cabinets, and the spring(s) are broken, new springs cost about $20. If you have wood panel on the dishwasher door, then you may need heavy duty replacement spring at about $22.

Door spring has gone slack and the door falls heavily. Any advice?

Remove the bottom access plate. Reach inside and find the spring and re-attach it. If the spring is broken buy a replacement spring. There should be 2 springs, one on each side.

Dishwasher door won't open, latch seems broken

Hello, I read your comment. If the latch is broken, then I suggest first of all disconect the electricity from the dishwasher. You may want to try using a small screwdriver and insert it where the latch is to activate the opening mechanism. If it doesnt open, then there are two options, I suggest to call the technical service to replace the door with a new latch.

Hope I have been of help.

Regards Nevd ´ll fixya.

I have a kenmore dishwasher that is 18 years old not sure of the model my wife tells me that the door seems heavier than before I am thinking a spring has let go if so how do you change the spring or fix...

Most likely the spring or springs that help the door up are broken. Usually, if you remove the lower front panel (usually 2 screws hold it on) you can access the springs. If they are broken, try your local appliance repair store for new ones. If they are that old, they may be rusted- be careful!

Door drops when opened

your door's hinge link is broken

Pull your dishwasher from under counter (you may need to disconnect hoses and power connnections, so turn off power at the circuit breaker). Look for the broken rope-like item and replace it. Use the other side as an example on how to re-install the link. Attach link to spring, hook spring back into frame/chassis, threaded link through pulleys, attach other end of link onto door then reinstall dishwasher under counter. My replacement link package came as a pair, so replace both at the same time. The other side may still be attached and functioning, but will most likely show signs of wear.

I recently had the same problem. One of the cords that attaches the door to a spring had snapped. I purchased cord replacments at the following URL and completed the repair myself. http://www.repairclinic.com/SmartSearch/SSPartDetail.aspx?PartID=1059756&PPStack=1

The door counter weight seems to have dropped off. there was a loud crash, and now the door feels really heavy, and won't close properly. any ideas??

Hi alisonf,
It sounds like you may have had a spring either come loose or break. You can take the kick plate off the bottom usually with a 1/4 socket or nutdriver and maybe a phillips. Take the screw out of each side and you will see on the far left and right a spring that attaches to the door hinge. One of them will be broken or off. Simply look at the one that is still in place and attach the other back the same way. If broken you can usually buy springs for dishwashers for around $8.00. Good luck and I really hope this helps. Bosch dishwasher

You have to remove the entire dishwasher from under the counter. Then locate the broken cable. There is a panel you need to remove to access it. It attaches to a spring which goes to the underside of the dishwasher. Not an easy repair. Need alot of patience for this but it is doable.
