HI. TO FIX WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, YOU HAVE TO STRIP THE SAW AND SPLIT IT IN HALF. NOW I HAD THAT PROBLEM ONE TIME AND I FOUND WHERE THE LEAK WAS CLEANED IT VERY GOOD AND PUT SOME JB WELD ON IT AND AS FAR AS I KNOW THE SAW IS STILL GOING. GOOD LUCK. JIMBO

My 450 Husky has a leak from the oil tank at the bottom of the saw. Is there an oil plug at the bottom of the tank that come loose or unscrewed??????

if same as mine there is a screw under side to stop oil flow altogether for storage or to slow down if excessive flow but remember to open if using so the chain doesn`t burn out to soon

Poulon pro 18" smoking

The only way a two stroke can smoke is either it is running far too rich ( possible blocked air filter ) or there is too much or incorrect oil in the fuel, if the oil tank for the chain is sepereted from the crankcase by a gasket, it maybe the gasket leaking and allowing chain oil into the crankcase.

Husky model 36, 16 in. bar, over oiling, non adjustable pump, will pump out a full tank of oil on about 3/4 tank of fuel, everything is spotless and dont have a clue on how to fix it.

The biggest problem with oiling on this machine was always under oiling, the pump is a fixed capacity so it should be impossible to over oil, it is more likley leaking from around the oil pump pick up and delivery hoses, or from the oil tank breather.If all is ok there then it is going to be a replacment pump.

I have an older Husky 61 that is leaking bar oil down the shaft of the oil pump. It is a new aftermarket oil pump, and after taking it a part there appears to be no means of sealing the pump shaft to avoid...

There was never an o ring fitted to the pump shaft, just a shim and a copper washer, the rest was down to good tolrences, your after market pump may have poor tolerence between the pump body and the shaft, pirate parts are not always a cheap solution.

My poulan leaks out it chain oil when i put it away and it is not just whats on the chain

So does my Craftsman, 2 McCullochs, 2 Pioneers, and a Remington. The oiler creates a siphon that is very difficult to stop in something as thick as 30 weight oil. The only sure way I've found to stop it is to drain the oil tank. I know that isn't what you hoped to hear but it is honest. HTH

My Husky 359 is the only saw I own that does not weep oil if put away wet.

Hi how to put front spring in to clutch brake

No model 61 listed @ Husqvarna.
How about a 261 here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter 261 (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – for use with IPL
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week
See the Chain Brake Assembly detail. HTH

Can I make my own cylinder gasket for a husky 61 ?

Yes you can make your own cylinger gasket for your chain saw just as you can make a gasket for a carberator or other items. Just go to the local automobile parts store and ask for gasket material. Take the old gasket out and trace the pattern on the gasket material and cut it out. The holes will have to be cut cut out also to the correct diameter. The screw holes can be drillied out or punced out for the installation. Be sure you obtain the correct gasket material so take the old material in with you for them to look at.

Chainsaw leaks chain oil when not in use

You might try loosing the oil cap on the chain oiler filler cap to release any preasure that might have built up during use and is forcing oil out as it sits. It sounds like a simple fix but it might just work.
