I HAVE SX-50 SYSTEM. the extension for one of the hotel rooms sometimes will read "EXT 114 LOCK" on the console. I've changed the phone and cord in the room but problem still exist. Other times, the problem solves it self but only to go back to "Lock". Any suggestions.

Re: "Lock" display on console
Lock means lockout. If you've changed out the entire set to the cords, look for something in the wiring to be shorting out. You'll get that indication if you walk into a guest room and take the phone off the hook. It will alarm at the console and lock out.

The phone line between the SX-50 console and the main control is disconnected or the console may need to be rebooted (unplug the phone line then reconnect it). If this doesn't solve it then contact your PBX system support person.
If I remember correctly, you can't do it from a 7630 phone. It requires a phone set up as a hotel operator to do it remotely. If your system is installed properly, you already have an operator phone, it's the one with the DSS console and it sets room status/ Check-In/Check-Out.
We have 7636's set up to do it and the command is *76*1 ext HHMM 0/1 0/1 . Now, the explanation HHMM is the time in 12 hour format if you are using a 12 hour clock, the first 0/1 is AM/PM for the 12 hour format, and the second 0/1 is ONCE/DAILY.
For the guest, the format is the same, but the code is *7601 HHMM 0/1 0/1 It's called Timed Reminder.

Sounds like extension has put the phone on transfer. You can try these steps on the Extension 241 phone and see if it will correct the issue.
1. Press the Feature button, then * 2 2. Push the button you want to program 3. Display will read "Intercom #:__" 4. Enter the extension number
To find out what the extension is in the board room,on the board room phone press feature *0 then press one of the intercom keys. You could also call another extension from the board room phone and see what extension number is on the display of the phone being called.
The console uses 3 pair USOC wiring from the console to the jack on the control card. Look at the Mitel provided cable from the console. It should be 6 pin and you can make sure the console is functional by moving it to the cabinet and plugging it in. If it works, you need to cable 432516 straight through on a 6-wire modular plug and terminate it in the same order on a jack where the console is. They must be paired for the long run.
I have a huge non-indexed pdf of an SX-50 if you need it. The console explanation is figure 5-14 of the -200 practice if you have it.
