Question about TruTech PVS12701 Portable DVD Player

1 Answer

So, my 3 year old got a hold of my portable TruTech DVD player and now it doesn't work. There is a black ribbon thing when you open the DVD player, one end of it is hooked to something, but the other end is just hanging there...which it probably should be hooked to something as well. Does anybody know what I'm talking about or how to fix it? :) THanks!

The black ribbon thing is the wire harness to the optical laser of your DVD player. It normally has a connector that is plugged into a printed circuit board inside the player. It is best to have a technician plug it back in to test the unit. The laser of these units can be harmful to eyesight when operating a powered unit opened. The laser may also need to be "calibrated" or aligned. Hope this has been helpful.

My dvd player says no disk when there is on in it it is not even a year old

HI, if this unit is less than six months old, it should be returned immediately. the optical lens assembly has failed. it may be a possible manufacturing defect if the unit is only 3 months old. if its more than 3 months old, you will be responsible for this replacement of the optical lens assembly unfortunately.

Question

Hi,

To my knowledge, a TruTech PVS12701 uses a Lithium-Ion 7.4v 2500mAh battery. There are no exact replacement batteries for this model. Best that you can try are batteries for some other brand of portable DVD players such as those for Samsung that has the same physical dimensions and electrical properties. Another factor to be considered is the cost of the battery. In some instances, it would be more economically reasonable to purchase a new portable DVD than just the battery. Sorry.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Problem with Trutech portable player

It probably needs a new battery if it isn't holding a charge.

You can probably find them at Radio Shack or Batteries + stores.

My dvd player turns on but...

must be a kink in the electrical wire therefore there is not enough electrical output to show images or make sounds but there is enough to charge your dvd player up :-|
