Have 1994 Cadillac Eldorado won't start without jump

Replaced battery, alternator and now spark plugs and car will not start without jump. When remove battery jumpers, cars dies after a minute!
Car use to stay charged for about one or two weeks then it would not start. have to jump it and then it would last for another week or two. ... now it will not hold a charge!
We think caddy has two problems, the alternator again...and what ever was happening to run down battery in the first place. We also think it could be a short or something was running down battery..HELP!
We are in process of testing alternator.

    I think u should quit guessing and have a professional technician diagnose this problem.

From your description it sounds as if you have insufficient current to support the electronics and lights . Check the condition and of the alternator drive belt. Have the alternator output checked . If you have continual jump starts then unless it is done correctly there is a chance that the ECM is damaged . But everything points to a low out put from the alternator

Hello! Is the engine an RB or a VE30DE? The code is stamped on the block...From my experience the 1994 Cefiro only came with a straight 6 rather than a V-6...Can you specifically identify the engine? Also does it have two timing chains; An upper and a lower? Thanks .....Guru...Saailer

If you havent replaced the battery I would start there. If the battery has a dead cell in it then it will effectively remove the charge that your alternator is putting out causing your vehicle to stop running because it has no power. I would jump start the car without the battery hook up and remove the cables and see if it runs that way. If it does you have a bad battery.

Have you tested the new battery? Would not be the first bad battery I have seen come off the shelf. If the battery tests good check your battery cables.

Wont start
First take a time out and recharge the battery (using a battery charger, not another vehicle) A discharged battery can buffer enough amperage that ignition system can't function correctly if using a jump start.
Second, check spark. If lots of fuel has gotten down to plugs, you should remove and dry them off as well.If no spark, check that 12 is reaching coil. If not, you need to determine why.
There are further tests, but start with what i've outlined before going further. If you find nothing, I'll try to help with the rest.

Battery charged but will not start without jump
Have your alternator checked at one of the parts store around your area. They will check it for free. The next thing would be to have your battery checked. If you need a jump after the battery has been charged, you may have a dead cell. The alternator charging the battery....will not charge the battery for the next start.
