Try a different power outlet, if still no start, then the unit has a defective power board.

If the unit does not start at all, then it means no power is getting to the unit.

Try first a different power outlet.

If the power cable is fused, like in UK, replace the fuse in power cord.

If still no luck , then the power supply circuit inside the system is faulty, usually this happen because one of the capacitors on power board has blown.

If instead you have the led on the system, and you have power , but system is irresponsive, then the system is in protection mode because it had detected an internal fault.
In that case the unit must be disassembled and tested thoroughly by a technician to fix the problem.

Check all of your speaker wire connections at both ends for looseness, strand wire fraying/breakage, correct polarity and corrosion. If all are ok, reduce your setting for the amount of bass it outputs.

I would like to connect my computer to my panasonic sa-ht800v unit and hear the sound thru the surround sound speakers

In general, your PC's sound card (and its controlling software) will determine what it can connect to.

Even the most basic PC would have stereo analog output via the typical green 1/8" connector or a headphone jack that easily adapts to RCA pair for analog audio connection. Any Line Level input EXCEPT PHONO would accept the PC's output. The output level would be controlled by the sound card software and settings.

The SA-HT800's single LINE Input would accept the Green stereo audio or speaker output from a standard PC, once adapted. Select VCR.

Find your PC's Sound Controls and enable the applicable input. make sure the volumes of both Inputs and Outputs are turned up.

Though not applicable to theGemini, more-advanced sound cards and audio hardware would have similar adaptable 5.1 or 7.1 (paired) analog outputs and / or digital audio outputs that conform to the s/pdif or Dolby Digital standards.

Believe it or not there is a seller on eBay who offers a one-price fixit solution for your unit for $100.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Panasonic-SA-HT930-SA-HT940-Repair-Service-/360178573162?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53dc50df6a

That aside, these types of systems are designed as a package to be used as a unit. Otherwise they might have standard connectors. Another closely-related Panasonic SA-HT system might work for you but I doubt anyone manufactures anyhting to adapt non-standard speakers to standard electronics.

They actually say on page 9 of the manual:

"Use only supplied speakers
Using other speakers can damage the unit, and sound quality will
be negatively affected.

I would interpret that to mean 'use these speakers only with similar Panasonic electronics'.

I have a Panasonic SA-HT650 Home Theater system that has stopped working. The panel code is F61

A power source problem. Means there is voltage measured at the output/speaker cable connections. Indicates a failure of the amp., or faulty power supply to it.

Just re-check all of your connections, especially speakers. And that the power ac power source from the wall is wired correctly and has proper voltage and grounding.

Problem w/ Panasonic SA-HT700 speakers

Try looking in the audio settings,it might be configured for stereo/mono or any number of surround sound settings e.g; 5:1, 7:1 In which case it might shut off the power to the circuit board inwhich the speakers are connected. If that fails .......Take it back!! Either the connection inside the speakers is faulty or the connections in the unit are faulty.

The F61 indicates a problem detected in the output amp stage and the unit us shutdown to prevent further damage. If you can supply the model number, I can give you the part required and the approximate cost.
