Try another power adapter/charger. These frequently go bad.

1. Start your computer in Safe Mode (hold in f8 on startup - Choose "Start in Safe Mode").

2. uninstall the program "TuneUp Utilities 2010"

3. The problem should now be gone.

It sounds like your laptop is overheating, hence it speeds the fan up. I would reccomend dismantling the laptop if you are confident in doing so, clearing any dust/debris from the cooling system and putting fresh thermal paste on where applicable. Hopefully this will cure your problem. If you are not keen on taking the laptop apart I recommend taking it to your local repair store for a cooling system service.

Remove the battery and unplug. Open it up and remove the CMOS battery. Hold the power button for 10 seconds to drain any residual charge. boot without cmos battery; password should be diabled. Put it back together.
