Question about Hitachi Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

When I turn on my hitachi CP-X205 projector, there is a very noticeable "fan" sound. Yesterday while using the projector it made a sound and then turned it self off. After unplugging it, I plugged it back in an hour later. It turns on but the sound continues. What can I do to fix this?

Hi!

You need to clean the projector. Take of the filter and clean it, open the topschell of your projector and clean it.
In time a projector collects a lot of dust inside, if you dosenrt regulary clean the filter the dust pass it and stucks inside the projecotor. Use compressed air for the job but be verry verry carefull so you dont damage anything vital. If you arent sure how to to it i sugest you take it to a electronic repairshop, its cheap and they will clean it properly.

Good luck to you

Flashing red light for lamp

There could be several causes for this. Does the cooling fan come on, it may be defective. There could be something blocking the heat sensor. Is it possible the connector didn't get fully attached when you installed the new lamp?

I have a Hitachi CP-X417 projector that keeps blowing lamps. Smells like something is getting extremely hot.

It sounds like you may have a broken or inefficient / blocked cooling fan. Check the air filters and make sure it is very clean and dust free. Also listen to hear if the fan is running at what you think is a normal speed - not irregular or start / stop. If this is all ok then it may be an issue on the d.c power supply to the fan - don't spend more money on a bulb until you check this out.

I unplugged it for 45 minutes. Apparently when you have a power outage it causes this problem.

Lamp turns-on and off

lamp ballast and/or power supply is going. the ballast has to boost the charge up to 140 vdc, and after it's up to it full strength, it drops down to 40vdc to maintain. if the ballast can't get up to the proper voltage, it shuts down. or the lamp itself will not hold the voltage, and therefore needs replacing.
