Question about Dometic Rooftop RV Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Dometic/Duotherm propane furnace won't fire up

I have a Due Therm Mod 65920-064 and on turn-on, the fan begins to blow but there is no flame. Is there supposed to be something hot to view in the little window? Like an electric hot plug or wire? I don't see anything in there and don't see a reasonably easy way to get into it. Can one get to it without pulling the entire heater out of its cabinet?

I have a Dometic DuoTherm ac/furnace unit in an rv. The thermostat got knocked off the wall and now the ac nor the furnace will work. Fan works in manual position only. What could be wrong?

When the thermostat was knocked off it may have damaged the wiring. I would start by checking continuity of all wires from thermostat to unit.

Duotherm dowmflow propane furnace the pilot keeps blowing out

There should be an access hole in the gas valve near the pilot gas tube entrance to readjust the pilot pressure. There may also be a small regulator in the tube for adjusting pressure. But if it was OK for years and all of a sudden just started blowing out, its probably a dirty pilot assembly. Also, if you have changed locations of your propane tank to a cooler location, ambient temperatures will lower the pressure of the propane. If your not familiar enough to remove, clean and replace the pilot assembly, you should call a trustworthy tech. There is a definite reason it started blowing out. All possibilities should eliminated before raising pressure. ALWAYS be careful with propane! Unlike natural gas, it is heavier than air and will collect in the tray under the burners and explode when a flame is established. Propane explosions are common. Be VERY careful!!!!!!!

Dometic/Duotherm propane furnace won't fire up

If this unit has a spark ignition you may just need to clean the flame sensor. It is a metal rod protruding in the path of the flame.

Ruud air to air heatpump intertherm propane furnace honeywell th5220d non programable thermostate.fan on furnace will not turn off in aux.mode even though the furnace heat kicks on and off. thank you for...

Make sure fan relay is wired correctly (G) wire. Ensure the fan on therm is not on, it should be on Auto or off.

If your furnace is short cycling because it has to keep heating your home, the delay in the control board may be staying on to compensate for the exchangers getting hot. If it heats normally, then put your attention to your thermostat.

Set the heating system on aux heat only. Fan should not be on, if it does stay on after a heating cycle, see if the furnace is heating normally, and reaching temp as desired before the heat comes off. Then check the therm wiring, pull the face of the therm, disconnect green wire (fan) and try the heating again.
