I have a very old roper dryer (11 yrs), it quit mid cycle. It ticks when I set the timer but nothing happens. The on button quit along time ago but when you shut the door it would start. Today nothing starts it.
I checked the fuse box, nothing tripped. I check the back of the dryer to make sure the vents were clear.
Thanks for your help.
You've got an open circuit somewhere in the loop betwixt the start button, the "safety" button actuated by the door, and the motor/heat coils. Trace out those circuits and you'll have that thing running in no time.

TDC6A makes a loud grinding noise. Its not the bearings, but appears to be the tension on the drum belt. Can this be altered ? The belt itself is fine.

hello.. recently the timing cam came off my commercial dryer. When I tried to reattach it and align the v notches, the yellow notched piece sits below the timer wheel so it doesn't advance. the drier runs endlessly. any ideas?
