Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

1 Answer

My Sansa Clip 1G's screen has completely gone out &

In the beginning it was ok. I bought it frm walmart and ity played fine. About 2 1/2 weeks later i noticed the screen darker on one side and brighter on the other. It gradually got worse until i could see nothing and i desperately want to use my sound recorder and radio but cannot b/c i can't see anything. If anyone can help me not let $50 go to waste on what i still believe is a good mp3, i would greatly appreciate it.
(Note: my sansa issued headphones were defected and only the right plug worked; this was a gradual issue also.)

It is not a good mp3 player - you have more than one hardware issue. The replacement headphone jacks are not available, and would require major electrical work to install anyways (bootleg DIY fixes, such as those shown on YouTube, only succeed about half of the time). That issue alone would justify getting an in-warranty exchange.

But, due to your screen problem, the LCD controller circuit is also bad. Mp3 repair for such issues is not cost-effective AT ALL, even in areas where such services are available - you could buy 6 of these for the cost of repair.

That player has a 1-year warranty - go ahead and call Sansa and get it replaced.

Sansa Clip won't turn off right? push up power button and hold it for 10 to 20 second, your device will turn off now.
After that, you should update your new firmware from sandisk forum, you should check Sansa Clip or Sansa Clip+ from the following web,

Good luck

I left my Sansa Clip MP3 Player plugged in while putting my laptop into hibernation. Now player does not response, I can't turn it on, and laptop doesn't recognize it at all.

    Complete Reset of Sansa Clip
  1. Step 1 Turn Sansa Clip on. Press the "Menu" (Home) button on the Sansa Clip.
  2. Step 2 Press the bottom of the scroll wheel until you reach the "Settings" screen. Push the center button to choose "Settings."
  3. Step 3 Scroll down to "Reset All," and select. You will be asked to confirm the reset. Select "Yes." This option will simply allow you to reset the language and location settings on your Sansa Clip. It will not erase data from the clip. To do a complete factory restore, follow steps 4 and 5.
  4. Step 4 In the "Settings" menu, scroll down until you reach "Format" and then select. You will be asked to confirm if you wish to format. Select "Yes."
  5. Step 5 Wait for the screen to say "Formatting Complete." You have now cleared all the files from your Sansa Clip and reset it to factory settings.
  6. Resetting a Frozen Sansa Clip
  7. Step 1 Unfreeze a frozen Sansa Clip by pushing the power button up and holding it for 20 seconds. Release it, and then turn it on again.
  8. Step 2 Go to the Sansa website and download the "Sansa Firmware Updater."
  9. Step 3 Select "Run" when the updater installs. (Installation will take less than two minutes.)
  10. Step 4 Wait for the Sansa Firmware Updater to run through its system test. It will ask you to connect the Sansa Clip to the computer to update your Sansa's software.
  11. Step 5 Connect the Sansa Clip and then remove it from the computer when instructed. If this process does not unfreeze your Sansa Clip, contact Sansa support at the Sansa Firmware Updater website.

Wondering how long it takes to charge the Sansa Clip MP3?

I have had the same problem. It seems the radio never turns off and keeps drawing power. Solution: before charging, go to a song, start it playing, then pause it, then turn off the sanza clip. Plug it in and it should charge up fine.

My Mp3 wont play certain songs

Sounds like you have two problems here. First my guess is your files bought from walmart are corrupted some how. just delete the ones that are giving you fits and call it a day. Second you mentioned it wont even sync music,,,, Are you saying none of your music or just the walmart ones ?
