I dont get any sound from my pc guess my sound card is having problem how 2 fix it?

HP did not say you can do that go to w10. so what makes you thing a sound chip works.
no sound from internal speaker or head phones and earbuds?
the service tag shows the full model and p/n
the part number tells the helper what sound chip of many was used.
Windows 10, 32 bit or 64.?
2006 PC, 11 years old, most dont do 64 that old. ever.
nor on this OLD DOG Celeron M 380 (D) 1.6 GHz
HP relic pages, Legacy pages (terse) shows SOUND AS:
Realtek ALC 880 chipset

so lets to go realtek , HP does not support w10 on old old PCs.

my guess no w10 drivers ever existed, nor will they
leaving (my guess 1, is Vista was last one)
trying any VISTA/W7/w8 drivers found, the MIGHT work.
or buying a USB sound dongle device, plug it in and have sound.

unless you can fit a new sound card in that slime line case.
id have to see inside it , go, will it fit or not. (size matters)

That.... sounds like a bad capacitor in the audio playback somewhere. Try the VCR 2 PC on a different computer, and see if it's the VCR 2 PC doing it, or, if the problem in in your computer's sound card. I guess here, bc I am not conversant with the device, and am unsure where the analog-to-digital conversion is being done.If it's being done by the computer, then it may be the computer's sound card.
As an old audiophile and electronics technician, popping noises in audio is usually a bad capacitor. If it's not still under warranty, shop fixes can get pricey, fast... unless it's the computer's sound, which can be fixed by disabling the onboard card and installing a new, if it has an onboard.

Forget it. There are no drivers for Vista or 7.
You might just find one for XP, but I guess you dont have xp.

How do you have a MB running Vista that does not have a sound chip built in?
If you need a compatible vista sound card I would suggest a cheap new one. Try Ebay.

if you do not have a sound card,then you can buy any sound card like of intex which does not cost you must,iyou can get it around $30-50

i think its sound card is damaged so replace it

If you can’t see it in the device manager under network adapters or unknown devices, it’s probably a hardware failure

can u see a speaker or volume icon at the tray, where the clock exists.
if yes, then click on it and check the pin that goes to cpu for speakers.

if you cant see the icon then check the installation of sound card from:
right click to "my computer" go to properties--->hardware---->device manager---->then check in sound, game controller, if u have the availibility of sound card there,

if u have an extra sound card installed on PCI slot in the motherboard then fix the card properly or reinstall it properly..

Well I guess my problem is a little less important. I have 1-2 3-4 5-? 7-8. I dont know where 6 went. I even checked to see if I could plug a wire into the input and toutch it with my finger to see if I got a vu response, Nothing.

Hi, you should have the driver CD for soundcard as it is shipped with the new sound card - if not you must download the driver for the soundcard not for the Chipset of the computer. Look at the soundcard - normal the driver manufacturer and model is shown on the "biggest" chip fixed on the soundcard - donwload the driver as shown on the chip of the soundcard from the manufacturer and install. (ensure you select driver for you operating system)
