Check on the left side of the Add or Remove Programs window to make sure that the Remove Programs box is highlighted. There is a chance that you have XP patches marked.

When booting up I always get a box saying yahooMessenger.exe. app.error (0xc0150002) App.failed. I click the box off. I do not use messenger anyway but it is annoying.

Just a word of warning before you follow this walkthrough. Before you remove any programs from your computer its a good idea to make sure that any important data you may have on your computer is backed up.
If you don't use messenger you could remove it from your computer if there are no other users using the program on the computer.
The way to remove it is to go to add remove programs and select messenger from the list then uninstall the whole program.
I not sure which version of Windows you are using but the path to add remove programs is very much the same on all versions.

Click Start - type add remove programs in the search box at the bottom of the start menu - click add remove programs from the list that appears (should be at the top) - in the list of programs on your computer look for Yahoo Messenger and left click it once to highlight it - Your will now see uninstall at the top of the list - left click uninstall.

Yahoo Messenger will now be totally removed from your computer and you should not see the error message on your next start-up.
Hope this helps you out.

Use the following instructions to remove sshnas.dll (sshnas21.dll) trojan and other components of trojan FakeAlert

Step 1.

Please download OTM by OldTimer

Run OTM. Copy, then paste the following text in "Paste Instructions for Items to be Moved" window (under the yellow bar):

Once downloaded, close all programs and windows on your computer.

Double-click on the icon on your desktop named mbam-setup.exe. This will start the installation of MalwareBytes Anti-malware onto your computer. When the installation begins, keep following the prompts in order to continue with the installation process. Do not make any changes to default settings and when the program has finished installing, make sure a checkmark is placed next to "Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware" and Launch "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware". Then click Finish.

MalwareBytes Anti-malware will now automatically start and you will see a message stating that you should update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.

As MalwareBytes Anti-malware will automatically update itself after the install, you can press the OK button to close that box and you will now be at the main menu. You will see window similar to the one below.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Window
Make sure the "Perform quick scan" option is selected and then click on the Scan button to start scanning your computer. This procedure can take some time, so please be patient.

When the scan is finished a message box will appear that it has completed scanning successfully. Click OK. Now click "Show Results". You will see a list of infected items similar as shown below.
Note: list of infected items may be different than what is shown in the image below.

MalwareBytes Anti-malware will now remove all of associated Trojan FakeAlert files and registry keys and add them to the programs' quarantine. When MalwareBytes Anti-malware has finished removing the infection, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.

How can i get authentium anti virus off my computer

  1. Step 1
  2. Navigate to the Programs and Features list (known in some versions of Windows as the Add/Remove Programs list) by going to the "Start" menu, then to the "Control Panel." This is the general location on your computer from which programs can be uninstalled.
  3. Step 2 Scroll through the list until you find the item for Authentium Antivirus2_bing.gif. Highlight the item by clicking on it with your mouse or scrolling through the list with your arrow keys until you reach it.
  4. Step 3 Click on the "Uninstall" button to remove Authentium Antivirus from your system. This will trigger the automated uninstall process, which should conclude of its own accord within a minute.
  5. Step 4 Reboot your computer to complete the uninstall process. This should remove Authentium Antivirus from your PC2_bing.gif for good.

How to remove "Live PC care" program that was installed to my PC without my consent? Thanks a lot

If you are using windows xp then you need to access the Add/Remove programs list. You do this by clicking on your start button and then going to Control panel and then selecting Add/Remove programs and Live PC Care should be located somewhere in that list. You then have the option to unistall it.

If you are using windows vista it's the same thing although it isn't called Add/Remove programs, it's called Programs and Features. This will also bring up the programs you have installed and you can then proceed to remove Live PC care. Good luck. Andrew

Large space between apps in add/remove programs

Download tweak XP from the net, install it, run it, there is a tab named ADD/REMOVE programs, it DOES NOT add or remove programs, rather, it allows you to edit the Add/Remove program List only, so you should select the "blanks" and remove the from the list. ReClarify: IF you remove an entry from the Add/Remove tab using Tweak XP, It will no longer be available under windows control panel add/remove and if it IS still installed you will NOT have a way to remove the program.

Programs missing from add/remove list

Once you have the "Add or Remove Programs" window open look at the left side and make sure you have "Change or Remove Programs" selected. Also make sure you have the checkbox ticked that says "Show Updates".

As for the other programs in the list without the chage / remove option. You need to first click on the progam in the list to show that option.

Add remove programs

When you do this try to uncheck show updates at the top, which will populate the list faster and also try with safe boot and remove unwanted software from there
