Depress power button on laptop for 10-20 seconds. This should cause the unit to power off. If not, you may be SOL.

Cant get on to safe mode

This is the Password for the BIOS on the motherboard. There are physical pins on the main board of desktop computers, but I'm not sure how to reset the password on a laptop. you could try resetting the CMOS of the laptop and see if it helps. to do that, follow these steps.
Turn off the Laptop and unplug it
Remove the battery
undo the RAM cover
Remove the RAM
plug the laptop into the power
Turn the PC on and listen for some beeping noises
If you hear the beeping noises turn the laptop back off
Unplug the charger
Replace the RAM into the RAM slots
Replace the the battery
Plug in the laptop and power it up.
hopefully when it powers up it will run straight to windows. Good Luck

Cant switch off!

Pull the AC plug, remove the battery. You didn't post the Make, model of Laptop or the OS you are using? Reboot, open Control Panel, select Power Options, select High Performance, open Advanced Power settings/Change power plan, Set Hibernate and Sleep to Never, set advanced power settings to your preference, always shut down and unplug when not in use. Remove battery when using on AC power for extended periods.

I installed handy call blocker software on my phone, after which the screen froze and became unresponsive to my commands. What should i do to unfreeze the screen and restore it to normalcy.

If you are unable to turn off the handset, unplug the charger [if plugged in] and remove the battery. Leave it for few minutes and reinstall the battery. Now turn on the phone and uninstall the "handy call blocker" from the "App Manager" before you do anything with your phone. If this isn't helpful and the phone still freezes, remove the memory card, restart your phone and try uninstalling again.

Let me know if you need further help.

Good Luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Freeze problem, please help me

Turn of all power then unplug battery, disc drive, and make sure there is NO POWER on at all. Now take the laptop and turn it over and remove both or if you only have one memory Modules, If you only have one try it in the other memory slot and try to reboot laptop. I you have two module remove both and only replace one and see if it boot up normal after that, I think that may fix your problems, I have seen sometimes the memory module gets loose and will cause a freeze up. Hope that solves your problem
