SOURCE: Rust on Jenn Air Refrigerator Door at Water Dispenser

You may end up respraying the door, but here goes.-

First mechanically remove as much of the rust as you can with an old screwdriver or similar scraper. Then use coarse emery cloth - 80 -120 grit untill all you're left with is shiny metal with rust pits.
You may need to go out further than you think - about 1" all round.

Then use a paint- on de-rusting fluid from vehicle products supplier. When all rust is black or dissapeared, use a zinc primer on all the bare metal. (this will stop it reacuring)

Then either spray the area with an "appliance white" aerosol or squirt it into the cap, and use a paintbrush.

If you are spraying it, open all house windows and doors, cut a mask from newspaper- then tape it to the fridge. Use blankets , plastic dustsheet or old sheets to protect things, and spray it from 12" in several very light coats.

When done, "polish" with T cut - which should remove the rust stain too.

Seal the area of the original leak with a white or clear silicone - and sort the original leak out.

If you polish the plastic with a silicone spray, water will tend to stay put rather than seep.

SOURCE: Jenn-Air freezer leak

Apparently it is the drain behind the freezer panel on the inside and it is blocked. It needs to be unblocked and cleaned. You remove the food and the rear panel on the inside of the freezer. With a hair dryer (carefully) remove all ice build up and then unblock the drain line going to the pan under the refrigerator. The drain line can be cleaned with bi-carb and hot water (not boiling).

2 things may cause this condition.

1. The relay and overload which starts the compressor has failed.
This is an easy fix.

2. The compressor has failed.
The compressor can be replaced and is worth doing if the unit is in good shape.

Why is my Jenn-Air Refrigerator leaking water on the floor?

Most likely cause is blocked drain under coils in back of freezer. There is a lot of information on the web regarding this issue. There will be icee under the coils. The freezer drawer must be removed then the ice removed, I used a hair dryer. Then when the ice is gone use something straight to clean out the drain hole. Next remove the back of the refrigerator and clean out the bladder that drains down to the evaporator pan. There is a newer bladder that will not clog up like the older ones. I have a Jenn-Air refrigerator, Model JCD2389DE, and in the last two weeks we have noticed water puddling on the floor in front of the "freezer side" door. We thought maybe the water dispenser...

Mine did this a few years ago. I had to call service out to replace the system board. I guess it's a common problem. Something on the board fails and the defrost operation does not work properly, resulting in rapid meltdown of ice build-up and puddles on the floor.

My Jenn-air refridgerator freezer section leaks water and builds up on bottom of freezer, defrosts then leaks out

sounds like you have a clogged defrost drain. when the unit self defrosts, the meltwater from the evaporator is supposed to go down a drain under evaporator, to a condensate pan underneath. when this drain gets clogged at any point, the water then drips into the freezer floor, freezes, eventually over fills the floor, and leaks onto kitchen floor. Do not try to snake out the drain, as it is plastic and usually not permanently attached, snaking can damage or dislodge the tubing, making problems worse. If you have a compressor, you can direct some compressed air into the drain to clear out any obstructions. Again, use caution against too much pressure, to avoid dislodging tube. Any reliable refrigerator repair service shouldnt charge much more than $100 to resolve this issue.

i have this problem too on my GE Profile. A youtube video seems to suggest a compressor problem. Turn off the fridge for a while and let it cool down and try again? I tried but to no avail. Would someone answer this? Please :)

Ice build up at bottom th freezer

You are correct. To fix this problem, clear the drain tube or channel and allow the defrost water to flow down to the drain pan.

Water collects and freezes in bottom of Kenmore freezer of side-by-side freezer/refrigerator

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking down the vent instead of the drain hole...If you need any further assistance please feel free to comment again. good luck! P.s Please don't forget to rate my solution thanks!

Water leaking out from the inside bottom Jenn Air JRSD245L

It sounds from what you described is a clogged drain line pull the bottom drawer out and look at the bottom of the back wall. see if the drain is backed up with ice if so use the back end of a rubber handle screwdriver and lightly tap the ice until it breaks up clean up the best you can around the drain and pour some hot soapy water down until to you hear it going into the drain pan.. a cup will do....>>the water comes each time the unit goes into defrost as the heaters melt the frost build up on the evaprator it melts and is suppose to go down the drain but if it is blocked then it forms at the bottom of the freezer floor..let me know if you still need the wiring diagram I can email it to you. Hope this fixes YA !
