Sounds like a new machine. Take it back for replacement or servicing. You may very well have a hardware problem.

SOURCE: On start up a rescue and recovery 4 screen appears and freezes

i suggest pluggin into the machine a usb keyboard for now, see if you still have problems. if so let me know and we will go from there. i also suggest you see if your keyboard can at least get you into the bios. i believe you should be able to tap the f2 key to get into it. but your black startup screen should give you the correct key combination to load bios. from there go to load defaults and save and exit. then try your restart and see if things change. if not let me know

Good Luck!

Unfortunately, the most likely answer is that your hard drive is failing (has failed).

If you're under warranty, you'll need to contact Lenovo.

Try going to safe mode. Restart your computer and press F8. Use the arrow keys to highlight safe mode. If you can get inside of safe mode, then do a system restore to restore your computer back to a known good date.

I have 919 error in the registry , i want to know how to restore it to the factory settings

to reset computer to factory out of theb box state on a toshiba is the number 0 on the key board, which you turn off computer and hold that button down until you see the logo of laptop and release and it will ask you of a out of box state ,make sure if you do try this do a backup of data on disk, and then try not sure wheather this will work, only try if wanting to reset today, but what i would suggest to you if you ring the lenovo support number you then ask for a way to set to out of box state or factory state and they will be able to help you with their brand for resetting it is easy and they are helpful with giving this information ,if they ask why, just let them know that its either a virus or something which is causing it to not load properly.hope this wait to get that reset key as i know it works for toshiba.

Start it up in Safe Mode by pressing F8 as it boots up. Normally that will repair the corrupt file. When fully loaded press start and close the laptop.

How do I Restore my Lenovo Y550 back to Defaults.

beside your power button there is a small button that will have a curved arrow on it, your system must be shut down then press and hold down the button wth a curved arrow or it may say NOVO on it press and hold it down for 4-5 seconds while the ssytem is shut down the computer will power on if you press that button then it will look like it is loading windows but it will show on the screen Lenovo Rescue OneKey System then you might see the option fix files or advance if this screen comes up it means that you still have the option to get windows working again if you click advance it will give you an option of Lenovo Password Management, Lenovo Anti Virus and Lenovo Rescue System select lenovo rescue system it will give you the options restore from initial backup, restore from customer backup select restore from initial back up to restore back to factory defaults unleass you created a back up of your own ^_^

I am using lenovo y410 when i repartition c drive from there onwards i can't use onekey recovery, any one please tell me how i can use this option.....................

When you repartitioned you basically erased the onekey services as they were in a seperate partition on the c drive. You would need a system restore disc in order to reinstall the service on your computer. Sorry.
