Question about Indesit W 123 Front Load Washer
My machine is just out side the guarentee, i live alone and the machine must have done 150 washes max.so i,m extremely diasapointed.
ive had the back off the machine and can clearly see the bearings in the centre of the drum, obviously i,d need to remove the security type screw and what i,d call the fly wheel, then how easy is it to remove the actual bearing? and is it just a matter of alligning the new bearing in place and gentley tapping it home.
great site here i,l be sticking around for sure. :)
You need to completely remove the drum assembly from the machine, place a piece of wood through the rear spindle and undo the nut, wiggle spindle and it should come off, do not hit with hammer ! split the drum (if splitable type) give the spindle of drum a good sharp whack with a hammer, it should come out of bearing, next you need a longish cold chisel, quite slim, to knock bearings out, i always knock rear bearing out first, then inner,, to replace, use the old bearing to drive the new ones home, only knock outter edge,, if you hit the middle you will damage the bearings,, the seals depending on which type can be fiddily, but again, the same as putting bearing in, but you can tap directly on seal being gentle

I need to remove the Centre spindle screw in Indesit washing machine and I'm not sure which way to turn and it is very tight. Is it Clock wise or counter clock wise? Please help.

You will need to remove the pulley first, the screw in the middle will need a knock to release the loctite.
you will then need to remove the spider assembly, that's the metal cross the bearings are sitting in. there are bolts set around the drum. spray the bearings shaft with oil to help removal, and you may need to hammer the spider as you remove it to loosen it. be careful of the heater.
then knock the bearings and seal out and do the reverse proceedure to put back together.
