Check the audio menu and make sure it is in the stereo mode and that the alt sound is not on. some times the remote button gets pushed by mistake when turning it off. If everything in the menu looks ok it may be the cable converter box. If you can hear anything from the speakers the output is working. Try a DVD to see if you get sound from it.

You may be able to use a universal remote that has a menu button. If you get one from Wallmart or other store. I dont think you can get to all the menu functions from the front controlls. But you can try.

We lost sound on our Sansui TVD2798 even though the speakers work. Mute button has no effect. Using the remote, we can't find any option for sound off or on.

There usually is an option for turning off the internal speakers as part of the TV setup routine...BUT you may have had a failure of the internal audio in your TV. Your Zenith remote might have a MUTE button which turns off TV sound and displays a mute message or the MUTE buttton might have been pressed accidentally and has become stuck

Tv works but no sound

Hello Jjwpod hi, to find where the trouble is, you need to place ear near speakers, you should hear a humming sound, adjust the volume up or down, the humming sound also goes up or down, this means your amplifier is working, no hum means trouble in amplifier.
summary:
No hum: trouble in amplifier, speaker connection.
Humming, but no audio: problem before amplification, most likely the Sound IF stage.

Speakers stopped working

Is it connected to a stereo or are you using hdmi? The reason I ask is that sometimes when there is no sound it could be due to a loose cable particularly when it comes to using optical cables. Have you tried unplugging all your external sound equipment including cable / satellite tv leaving the tv unit free from any external sources? If it then does not work (and the mute button is not on) then it is definately an issue with the tv. More often than not it is due to old cables or a loose cable. If the tv works then add in each extra thing like dvd player one at a time. If the sound goes you know it is the cable for that particular item etc.

I have a panasonic TX-37LZD70 lcd tv the sound has suddenly gone -tried all the obvious ie mute and volume any suggestions

Have you tried connecting some external speakers to the audio out ports? Most modern TVs at minimum should have analog RCA outputs. See if you can connect external speakers to verify functionality of the sound processor. If you get sound, that probably means one of the mosfets or speakers have failed. Either way, a DIY repair would be next to impossible. Your best bet would be to contact a repair shop and see if this is a common problem with your TV. Allthough inconvenient, you may find it acceptable to use the external speakers if they work. Good luck.

No sound

It could be that moisture has penetrated the speaker cones and made them less elastic, try connecting a pair of headphones to the front of the telly, if this is working then there is a chance that it may just be the speakers.

Sound quit working

You didn't mention if you were using the TV with a cable or satellite TV box which could have its sound turned down or be defective. Otherwise, if you have a VCR or DVD hooked up to the set, do you get sound then? With some TV's there is a menu selection where you can turn the speakers off and on some sets, there is a switch to mute the speakers. If you still can't get sound and the set is out of warranty, then a replacement is probably in order.

SanyoDS25390 Tv good picture buzzing noise

What are you using as a source? If its a cable/satallite box, double check that first. If its a video input or a scart input, swap out the cables. If it still there you could have an input problem or a filter capacitor going bad. Does the hum get louder with sound? If it does it is an input source and or cables. Good luck Ps please dont forget to rate this thread.
