Question about Gaggia Evolution Espresso Machine
Our Gaggia Evolution was working fine until recently. It produces steam and when the hot water switch(on right side) is pressed, plenty of hot water comes out so the pump is clearly pushing the water through.
However, despite cleaning - taking the showerhead off and cleaning that, then removing the showerhead holder and cleaning that - have not been able to produce anything through the shower head holder - without the showerhead itself - apart from a few drips. Pump can be heard and the water level goes down but nothing comes out the other end!
What to do? Or know of a good coffee maker repair place? I'm on the Central Coast of NSW.
One question before I make any suggestions: If you remove the shower screen and screw, do you get a nice flow of water or is it still steam?
If you get a nice flow of water, then check your screen hold it up to the light and you should be able to see through the tiny holes, if not, get a pair of needle nose pliers and being very careful hold screen over an open flame like the stove burner. The coffee will burn before the anything happens to the metal. When it is cooled screw into group and see if the flow of water is better.
If you get nothing but steam then it is time to descale the machine.
