Re: MS 7142 TO INCREASE RAM
its a case of purchasing the new ram modules taking the old ram out and popping the new ram in
i wud recommend using OCZ, GEIL or Crucial memory modules as these are the best makes
the spped of the ram varies from system to system depending on the system bus speed the most common speeds for this board is pc2100, pc2700 and pc3200 these speeds are as follows pc2100 - ddr200 pc2700 - ddr333 and pc3200 - ddr400

This board is also known as K8MM-V.
If you go here: Support For K8MM
Then you will find four tabs toward the bottom of the page, the second of which says Drivers. Clicking on this will give you a box further down which is a drop down menu to select your Operating System. Once you have done this there will be a list of all the drivers for this board and you can download whichever ones you want. You should note that this is quite an old board and it does not appear to support any OS above Vista 64bit as there are no drivers for Windows 7 or higher. Also with only 2Gb RAM maximum supported (according to the manual) I doubt its capability to run Win 7 or higher.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Please select your windows system, click on zip file for download. Unzip the file when downloaded, before you install the driver. Not all windows system is supported, such as windows 7. Other drivers can be downloaded here: http://www.viaarena.com/drivers.aspx By selecting your windows system.

used it many times, and it's awesome.
wish you best of luck
unfortunately there are no sites with info on this board, but similair ones can take upto 512MB of ram, but you would be wise trying a matching 128MB stick in the other slot.
You will have to visit a computer fair to get hold of sdram or try ebay.
