On the back of the printer where the cable connects is actually a 36 pin connector, the end going to the computer is the 25pin end. What you will need to do is get a USB to parallel cable, they run $15-25, this will have the USB plug on one end and the 36pin centronix printer connection on the other end. This cable will allow your printer to be connected to the laptop. Office Depot and Staples should have the cable you need, if not you can do a google search for it and order one online.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
You will need to search on the internet or go to your local computer parts shop.
You will need a USB printer cable (approx $10) and a AC power adapter for the HP PSC1210. This will cost about $20-35 depending on which style you chose.
If this issue occurs, after installing the new version or revison of internet explorer then try to download the "Critical update to resolve an issue with HP Director after installing a new revision of Internet Explorer" from HP Website if the operating system is Windows XP.
The problem is with the device driver. Every piece of hardware has a corresponding software program called a device driver to let Vista/XP know it is there and what it does and how to do it. If a disc came with your printer then that is what loads the device driver. However, with USB devices you must load the driver with the USB cable unplugged from the printer. Then once the driver loads then plug in the printer...nobody knows exactly why but that is with all USB devices. So unplug and load the disc, then plug and see if it works. You may have to reboot..if that does not work let me know as they are a couple of ways to get it to working. Good luck and keep me updated. Pls rate this solution.
