I turn on my compaq desk top and it wants a file or command

I dont no what to typ in . I cant go no further no display

Hi im josh in cebu phils.may i help you? friend if nothing appears on screen then the main problem is your hardware particularly the video card. first thing to do is you need to check the video card if it is seated properly on the slot. 2nd the connection between the cpu and the monitor check wether the chord is mounted properly. if it still appears remove the extra devices such cd rom sound cards etc.just run with video and hdd only. if it stills occur.you need to replace the mainboard to solve the problem. thats all hope i helped you try to do those good luck

My sony p45333 wont start


the keyboard does not have any commands to format a primary hard drive

Restart your computer repeatedly tapping the f8 key to enter safe mode while the screen is black once in safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you to attempt to repair your computer

If done properly the user should get to a screen similar to the below screen.

Select the option for Safe mode command prompt only

Windows Advanced Options Menu
Please select an option:

Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Enable Boot Logging
Enable VGA mode
Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
Debugging Mode

Start Windows Normally
Reboot
Return to OS Choices Menu


Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice.


select safe mode with command prompt then type in chkdsk/f/r which will scan for and and attempt repair of bad files and bad sectors on hard drive


you should have no input while chkdsk utility is in progress any input might further damage your computer or


Use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue and then replace the file.


Type the following command and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

you might have to buy a recovery disk
or you might try safe mode with command prompt or safe mode with system restore

Reboot the computer As the computer is booting repeatadly press the F8 key as the computer is booting

Hi,
Format your pen drive through computer management.
It will solve your problem

1. Go to desk top and right click on your my computer icon.
2. You will get one option called Manage.
3. Click on that , it will open a console.
4. Then click on disk management .
5. you will see your hard disk partition and pendrive.
6. Right click on your pendrive and format it.

hi buddy!

i guess your problem is video card. your videocard is broken thats why you encounter a problem the no display ok try to chnge a video card of your pc ok. thnx.
coz to believe you encounter a matrix on your monitor and after a min. the monitor turn to black or white.

download and run everesthome
click on the + by motherboard
click on cpu then click on motherboard
the cpu will id the the processor
motherboard will id the FSB speed.

CPU-Z
click on the download latest version, left column
when you unzip and run this it will tell you if the processor is 478 or 479 pin both have 478 pins but location is different.

Bios reset


As another option you could try resetting the jumper. Some boards save the password regardless unless the reset the BIOS by using the resetting jumper. Refer to the motherboard's manual for further information on how to do this.
