the keys on the asus eee pc do not work properly and only work erraticaly this is so bad that i cannot even have users accounts passwords as when trying to login the function NUMLOCK is triggerd on by default (was not on day one of use but was from day two?) and can take as many as twenty key presses before it responds also many other keys work sometimes and not on others such as the shift keys which rarely ever work or certain letters this is only day three of use and has rendered it useless for me,i wish i had never made the mistake of buying it ,i now realise it IS just a TOY computer and of no real use for genuine computing,it should be sold in toy shops for around twenty pounds i reckon!                              P.C.

I HAVE NO USER MANUAL FOR ASUS EEE PC 4G (701)

Hi Brian,
I assumed you were looking for the EEE PC 701 (XP) Manual and not the Linux version..
If so, you can get the manual from here: http://rapidshare.com/files/312178229/EeePC701SD_XP_0730.zip.html (Click on the "Free User" download option)

NTLDR missing issue

  1. Insert the Windows XP bootable CD into the computer.
  2. When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press any key.
  3. Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows.
  4. Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter.
  5. You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password.
  6. Copy the below two files to the root directory of the primary hard disk. In the below example we are copying these files from the CD-ROM drive letter, which in this case is "e." This letter may be different on your computer.

    copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\
    copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\

  7. Once both of these files have been successfully copied, remove the CD from the computer and reboot.
