i own two crunch ground pounder pro 3000s.and you all have no idea what stealth amps these are.beleave me.here are the bench test reults from crunch on the 3000gp Ok
guys, here it is. Depending on your battery set up this amp will make
an ungodly amount of power. With a 12volt battery set up dropping to
11.5 volts the Crunch GP3000D Pro made 2850 watts at a 1.03 ohm
reactive. That's 4 12volt batteries. If you can get the voltage up the
amp will make much more. By just starting the car and using the high
amp alternator (starting at 16.1 volts and dropping to 12.3volts), the
3000 made 3732 watts. That's crazy isn't it. THAT'S NOTHING! I hooked
it up to a 16volt battery set up and it just went crazy! With the
battery voltage dropping to 15.7 volts with a 1.4 ohm reactive this
monster made 4640 usable watts. NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT!

Exactly, Crunch makes some pretty decent sub amps.. But that's where it ends. I would have no problem reccomending them as an inexpensive bass-exclusive amp, especially for tough wiring loads (between 2-4 ohms mono)

wel i would be willing to bet you can find a good RF amp, or <shudder amp, or something like that... im sure you can find these on the net for AROUND the same prices all is relative however, so if you like the prices of the vseries youre good to go nothing at all against them
i love pioneer, and theyre amps are amazingly clean... but id rather have the crunch amps for subs... the pioneers have no balls in general RDA

Actually, I believe that tester is me. And I benchtested the Crunch V-600 Amp at 901RMS at 2 ohms mono. Not bad for $209... But I wouldn't keep it hooked up at 2 ohms mono permantly. And at battery voltage it only puts out about 600-700RMS at 4 ohms mono.. But that is okay for me.. Crunch rates it at 1000x1 at 12.6 volts, so 901x1 at 14.4 volts wasn't too much a stretch.. It is still a good deal for the money in my opinion.
Also, I tested the V-4004 amp. It is rated by Crunch USA at 100x4 at 4 ohms, 350x2 at 4 ohms mono. It puts out 100x4 no problem, but it really only puts out 300x2 mono. But for $145 it was a good buy in my opinion. Another good note, so far the power output has not dropped off a bit since the day I bought it. And in my experience it is more reliable then say a Profile amp.
Oh, and the amp has alot of nice features, meters, hi-level inputs, rca output, hi/lo crossovers, three-way protection, etc. I think if you need a budget sub amp, it is a nice way to go.
BTW, what amps do you think are better sub amps for around this price range?

youre right and youre wrong they make good sub amps... you can probably find a much better sub amp for AROUND that same price range.. but yes, they make good sub amps
and if you do a deja search on the newsgroup <something i still have to learn how to do on his own time and he found that they do indeed lie about the specs... i think the amp said something like 800 watts or 100 watts mono, and he said it put out something like 4 or 500 watts, but he went on to say he tested it on a 2 ohm mono load, and it played fine, and pushed a hell of a lot more wattage who was that i forget who wants to tell this guy who tested the amp
thanks RDA

I have personal experience with them. The only amps worth looking at are the V-Drive amps. In my opinion they make great sub amps. They do not lie about their specs, and all measurements given are at 12.6 volts not 14.4 volts. If you are in the market for an inexpensive sub amp, look no further. I love my V-600, but I also have a V-4004 running two tens in my girlfriend's car. I would reccomend it very much. Just so you know, I payed $209 for the V-600, and $145 for the V-4004.

I have a lanzar 2400 watt max pro st MXA 252 that blew out for no apparent reason. I definitely did not play my music too loud. However, all the fuses are fine and there is voltage coming from the amp. Are there any fuses inside of the unit that might have blown? If so, is it a relatively easy problem to fix (i.e. can I even find the inner fuses at another store?)?
