Benq EW1621 not recognizing any disc/media

I have been trying to burn movies from my camcorder - I have done this before using the same camcorder and external Benq1621 but have not done it since a reformat of my hard drive. I cannot open it with windows movie maker i use xp and won't work. It say's "it is not a valid windows movie maker project"

windows movie maker doesn't recognize mpeg 4 files. you need to use the software that came with your camcorder, or you might try downloading another player by doing a search for mpeg 4 editing programs. one other option is Media Converter (also media converter pro) there you can convert the files to avi or wmv that win movie maker can use.

First check sound settings on control panel, ensure volume is not at minimum and computer audio is not muted. Test playing a CD.

this is usually due to Media Player or whatever player you use on your pc, not having the right codecs to decompress sound from camera file.

Usually you sort it out upgrading media player, you can download update from links below.

  1. Windows Media Player 10
  2. Cumulative update for Windows Media Player 11 in Windows Vista

Window movie maker, does not recognize my dvd camcorder

the issue is that your camera exports this movies in a format that the movie-maker do not recognize ...so ..what you really meed it is a movie converter to convert the files you download from the camera into such files that are seen by the movie maker..
http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/
this is a converter like I mentioned...it is a free universal one ..but on the net there are better instruments also...try it ..if it works its fine ..if it do not see your exported files to convert them in avi or mpeg4 ...just look on the internet for another one that does a similar job ..
good luck ..and do not forget to rate ..

I have a camcorder called Aiptek 720 p HD.... that takes digital movies in a .mov format.... I like to burn a DVD using the movies from my smart card media... is there a free software I can down load that...

Mine came with Arcsoft Total Media
Extreme. At first it did a great job of making movies. It has been freezing up lately.
You should have gotten a copy with the cam or a link to download it at least. If not, buy a vid editing package that supports hd mov files. The compression is h2.64 I think.
