Typically surround sound is run through a receiver or stereo. The sound from the tv is carried to the receiver by cables (hdmi or Audio-Video connected to input area of receiver). Then the speakers are connected to the output area of the receiver. If you are not using a receiver, then the speakers must be able to connect directly to the tv and you have to see what kind of cabling your tv supports.
Hi bud , What your laptop has is a 2.1 Channel Sound card , and your speakers are a 5.1 Channel Surround Sound system ...So in order to get the Real pure surround sound , Sound out of the speakers you will need to buy a 5.1 Channel Sound card... Hope you come right bud happy new year :)
why dont you have them all hooked up? I have the same speakers but I the model that only has 2 speakers. Try pluging your audio cable in the front where you would plug head phones in. Assuming that this is a desktop.
The system comes with l remote which provides controls
for "Power", "Master Volume", "Bass (Subwoofer) Volume" and "Matrix
Mode" . Matrix mode allows you to
spread stereo sound to all speakers where your sound card may not have
the ability to do so. I find that the "Stereo Surround" setting works best as opposed to the recommended "CMSS" setting
