Question about Macromedia Flash MX

1 Answer

I'm operating on windows vista and every time I try to play a game, it tells me macromedia projector has an error and must close. I have tried everything to fix this, it just won't work. Any suggestions on what else I can do? I mean, the game was working fine last week. What should I do?

Hi there,If you have Vista instead of XP, click on the desktop shortcut to the game, go to "Property", click on the "Compatiblity" tab and put a check in "Run this program in compatiblity mode for:, now try all the choices in the dropdown box (win95, win98/win me,etc. etc) one at a time til it works. Hope this works.

    Try another way-

The error "macromedia projector has encountered a problem and needs to close" can occur, if the Macromedia projector files in system is corrupt or
missing. You can resolve the issue by downloading and installing the latest
version of Macromedia softwares from the URL given below:

    1)Macromedia Flash Player Download

    2)Shockwave Player Download

I hope the above information helps you resolve the issue.

    add comments for further assistance.

    Good Luck!!!

Macromedia projector error when installing new software...

Try rebooting the computer. If that doesn't help, Reinstall Macromedia Projector and then reboot the computer. It should almost definitely work after that.

Macromedia projector has stopped

You might try reinstalling Macromedia Projector (now Adobe Flash).

Sometimes if you use compatibility mode to run the game:
  • Click - Start, Programs, Accessories, Program Compatibility Wizard.
  • Follow the prompts to set up the compatibility mode.
  • Use Windows 98 compatibility, and disable visual themes.
Also you could change Apple Quicktime to run video in Safemode:
Quicktime Player > Edit > Quicktime Preferences > Advanced > and under Video Change from DirectX to Safe Mode (GDI)

You may need to reinstall Quicktime, but uninstall the old version first.

Macromedia projector

I have had same problem last time. What I did was run Program Compatibility Wizard and next set compatibility to win98 (dont remember if that is the one I choose, but you can test it). No idea what does it have to do with it, but it solved problem in my case. Hope it will help you.
