You have it upon one of several truly odd "standards" in the AV industry but the answer is simple if not quite logical. You will use an RCA type cable from the Sub out or LFE on the receiver to just one of the two inputs on the subwoofer. I usually use the one on the right but it really doesn't matter. The other connectors would be for a system with out a sub out where the speaker wire would be run first to the subwoofer and then out to the speakers. This will not be used at all in your case.

How should i connect my subwoofer- is it directly to the speakers or amplifier?t

I'm assuming that you are using a standard amplifier with L and R speaker outputs if a stereo Amp.... or L and R and SUB standard RCA output jacks. If it is a more complicated setup, having surround sound speaker jacks, then look for a SUB OUT jack or plug.
Some Subwoofers are self-powered, having their own, built in amplifier especially designed for that model. Sometimes they require a SUB connection and a power supply to the 110V AC house power too. These sometimes need a connection to a standard 3.5 mm HEADPHONE jack output plug. If it's this type, then the front of your amplifier could have one. Either way, the musical signal from amplifier to the subwoofer must be available on your Amp AND be received by the type of subwoofer you are using.

Why won't my a102 speakers from jamo witch came

The Jamo speakers need an AV Receiver to drive them properly. The TV doesn't have the correct outputs nor does it have the power required.

The Jamo kit consists of a powered subwoofer ans 5 small surround speakers. Each surround speaker needs to be powered by the speaker output from an an AV Receiver. The subwoofer should also be connected to the receiver, but the connection is a phono/RCA lead from the receiver's "Sub Out" socket.

Your TV connects to the AV receiver via the Optical out.

Hello, my Harman Kardon HKTS 15 sub woofer don'st work, the light that suppouse to turn from orange to withe when i turn on my receiver stay orange.could be the cable from my receiver to the sub...

It could be because of your subwoofer AMP is gone.

Temp fix: Disconnect the subwoofer wire from receiver for 20-30mins and plug-it back. It did work for couple of months.

How do i connect my boston acoustics pv800 subwoofer to my Harmon Kardon AVR 520 reciever?

You need to use the LINE LEVEL connection on the pv800 (usually a rca type connector cable) and run this cable into the back of the HK 520 Subwoofer PRE-OUT connector, be sure the HK Receiver menu speaker set-up option is set to SUBWOOFER "YES"

Connect powered subwoofer

  • If your receiver has a dedicated subwoofer line level output, we recommend connecting your subwoofer to this jack. Most receivers will have just one (mono) subwoofer output, while quite a few subs require two inputs. You can use an RCA "Y" adapter cord , which is a cable with one female RCA jack at one end, and two male RCA plugs at the other. Some receivers require menu settings (such as "sub-on" or "front speakers-small") that must be made before the sub output will be active.

    Subwoofer connection

if this is ao powered sub, that plugs into the wall, there should be no problems, if it is powered solely by the reciever it may work fine but be sure you dont exceed amperage on the subwoofer.
