B4 Problem

By Bomber - usenet poster

I have the B4 and can use the effect section as a direct x plugin, but it will
not respond to MIDI. Everything else in my MIDI hookup works perfectly, so I
cant find a reason for this. Ive also read the manual carefully and it doesnt
acknowledge this as a problem. Any helpful ideas folks?

that sounds like a possibility- thanks.
The readme file also mentions the fxpansion VST to DirectX adapter under
Cakewalk. I guess more investigating is at hand. I use a stand alone MIDI
program and use VST and Direct X plugins in Cool Edit Pro 2.0 and Wavelab 4.0.
Hmmm:)
While I'm griping (lol) I also hate programs that make you insert the disc- I
have to go find it again now- lol. Thanks folks.

...

Well I did find that it responds on three - and only three - MIDI channels
at a time. One for the top keyboard, one for the bottom keyboard and one
for the bass pedals. The other MIDI channels don't do anything. I THINK
you can choose any three (or rather, choose the first one and the othe two
will follow automatically). Might be worth investigating...

DirectX plugs are not automatable/cannot receive midi via directX. Isn't there a
VST version in the same package? Native Instruments releases tend to have VST
versions. Try that one instead...
