When i turn my laptop on a screen comes up a message apperas "invalid configuration information-run setup program" then it shows another screen with the next text"this computer system is proctecuted by a password authentication system. then it ask for administratev password or program password i try typing a password and doesn t work the n it turns off. what can i do pls help.thx

If this error message comes up when you boot up the computer, it means the BIOS requires configuration, usually the Time and Date is wrong. To perform a clean installation of Windows XP, follow these steps:
Back up all important information before you perform a clean installation of Windows XP. Save the backup to an external location, such as a CD or external hard disk.
Start your computer from the Windows XP CD. To do this, insert the Windows XP CD into your CD drive or DVD drive, and then restart your computer.
Note To boot from your Windows XP CD, the BIOS settings on your computer must be configured to do this.
When you see the "Press any key to boot from CD" message, press any key to start the computer from the Windows XP CD.
At the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to start Windows XP Setup.
Read the Microsoft Software License Terms, and then press F8.
Follow the instructions on the screen to select and format a partition where you want to install Windows XP.
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the Windows XP Setup.

Here is what you do, go into the BIOS setup, usually you press the DEL key OR F2 or whatever your one is, IT should say on screen as it boots up.... it says "Press YOUR- KEY Key for SETUP". So, get into setup, using your manual ensure it is set correctly. Then SAVE SETTING and exit All should be good now.
