Question about Toshiba 50HDX82 50" Rear Projection Television
This evening we started experiencing a problem with the volume control on our Toshiba 50HDX82 RPTV. To be more specific, when we release one of the remote control volume buttons the volume continues to go in that direction and will only stop when it reaches it's maximun or minimum level or when we push one of the volume buttons again. For instance if we push the volume up button in order to increase the volume, the volume will continue to rise after we let off of the button and we can only stop it by pushing the volume down button. It's extremely difficult to adjust the volume properly this way. It's really annoying.
We have 2 different remotes that will adjust the tv volume and both remotes cause the same thing to happen.
However, if you adjust the volume via the volume buttons on the front of the tv the volume function works perfectly.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem.

Tips for a great answer:
Sep 21, 2012 | Philips Magnavox 13MT143S 13" TV
Jul 27, 2012 | Toshiba REGZA 52RV530U LCD TV
Disconnect the AC power for at least one minute to reset the clock.
Adjust the volume to the minimum using the Volume down button on the front of the unit.
Press and hold the Volume down button on the front of the unit and the 0 button on the remote control at the same time, holding them down for at least 10 seconds.
The user menu will appear with the V-Chip cursor blinking.
Press the ENTER key on the remote control and the NEW PASSWORD menu will appear.
Enter your new password.
The V-Chip is bypassed by holding the zero key on the original remote hand unit, and at the sane time holding down the volume down on the front of the TV set. This should reset the oide so you can enter a new one.
