Question about Apple iPod touch

1 Answer

I can't connect to wifi - my network pops up, but it doesn't prompt me for a password and I don't see any info filled out under IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router, DNS etc. Help! I've tried to reset my settings and it still doesn't work.

This may cause because of the wifi connection. Let's check your connection. Do this on your iPod settings>>wifi>> (blue arrow next to the connection)press it. Now if you ip address subnet musk and some other lines. If anything less then 4 line is full then try to reset the connection cause that is because of the network config. Let me know for future references or help.

If it is appearing and has a lock on it, then you most likely need a password to connect to the router.

I cannot get internet connection, i am on wireless 1 and it is asking for a password also i don't know the ip address, subnet mask and the dns

Even if the modem/router you are trying to connect to allow 'dynamic IP' address resolution (eg. no need for coonecting device to know IP address, subnet, etc...), you will still need to know the specific 'password'/ 'Security Key'/Encryption Key for your specific modem/router Wifi coonection - I am assume that you also know the correct SSID (Broadcast system ID for Wifi) for this Wifi Connection.
Hope it clarifies a few requirements.

My i-pod touch (8Gb) can't connect to internet

This worked for me: Went into SETTINGS > Wi-Fi > Selected my Network (which my iPod said I was already connected to) > Selected "Forget this Network" (which disconnects you from your network) > Re-selected my network and under password, I entered the 'Security Key' from my Verizon FIOS Tech Wizard info and the device accessed the app store successfully.

8gb ipod touch will not connect to internet when i have a full wi

Hi there,

You shouldn't need to change the Address or DNS.

On your wireless router, make sure of your Firewall settings (if there is any form of blocking) and it's security settings (eg, network name, password and security type etc). Once you are sure of it's settings, on the iPod go to Settings, then Wifi. In there turn off then on wifi. Allow it to scan then if it comes up with your network, select it then type in the password when requested and tap Join. If it doesn't show you need to enter it manually. To do this tap on Other then type in the Network name. It should now request a password (if one is set) and you are then connected indicated by the wifi logo in the status bar.

For more info refer to your ipod touch manual pages 90-91.

All the best.
