You press F10 at boot up. You have only a second or two to do this. It is usually when the HP logo appears.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

First pull motherbord from cabinet some times motherboard is grounding with cabienet.
Then pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes.
Refix RAM memory.
Reconnect ATX power connector to motherboard.
Then check.
If still same issue then open processor fan and processor then clean dust from all place in mothebord.
Then try.
If you still got same then something rong with your ram or motherbord.
Change ram then try.
Pull all card from PCI slot check motherbord only with RAM not even harddisk and other device.

Need to reset CMOS password on a HP Pavilion dv2000. Have tried to remove the cmos battery without any succes

Hi...

It is not a battery you want to remove to reset the password. It is the jumper near the battery it is labeled CLRCMOS means clear cmos. Get the jumper and turn it on with in 5 second and turn your computer off. reinsert the jumper and turn it on. mostly when you turn it on it will required you to press F1 to continue.

Good luck!

Thanks for using fixya.
