I was having the same problem on Windows 7 and thought it might be a software issue. But then I found an online manual for the Kensington 72214 and got the solution.
You need to make sure to establish a wireless connection between the mouse and the USB receiver by first pressing the connect button on the end of the USB stick and then pressing the connect button on the bottom of the mouse. It is not simultaneous - do step one then two. This also has to be done any time your replace the batteries.
Here is the manual: http://files.acco.com/KENSINGTON/K72214/K72214-4697.pdf

Probably the device driver is not detecting. unplug it and connect it to a different USB port and try. if that doesn't work assuming you are using winXP, then go to device manager check to see if there is any exclamation mark next to the mouse. If so then uninstall the driver and hit refresh. that would auto install the driver. if that doesn't solve the problem, then you probably change the mouse. it got defective.

My cursor will not move using the mouse pad on my Dell latitude 3330

If you have an external mouse, the mouse pad will be turned off.
There is a setting in the BIOS that allow both to function at the same time.
In windows control panel, there is an item to enable (the been disabled) mouse pad.

Dell Lattiude D600 cursor locked in middle of screen - even after we turn on and off - no way to do anything because cursor won't move - not even little blue mouse in the middle of the screen

Try booting up after installing an external USB mouse. This may give you a mouse to install new keyboard drivers.
If the problem is the keyboard/tracking pad, (hardware) installing another keyboard may eliminate the issue.

My mouse dose not move

There is a connect button under the mouse.
and there is a button on the reciever. Please press both the buttons together for 2 minutes and after this it is supposed to work. However if it is not working replace the battries and do this sync process again.

If still not working contact kensington support they will replace for you.
