Check your drum unit. The toner cartridge mounts into the drum which can be permanently charged causing a constant streak to occur.

Solution:
Remove the toner and drum unit. Clean them off with a non-fuzzy non-rough cloth or paper towel. Pay particular attention to where the streaks are in relation to the toner cartridge and drum. If you clean it off and you still get streaks check whether they transfer from the toner or just from the drum.

There may be a way to discharge the drum, otherwise you need a new drum.

My daughter was messing with the printer. When I print anything now, the printer prints out a thick black line covering everything where the text should be. Is there a way to re-set the printer to get it...

Disconnect the printer from the computer momentarily. Allow to lay idle for a while, then reconnect to power on the computer. A new allignment instructions will be requested from computer on attempt to print with new settings.

Vertical lines printed on right side of every page

Would be helpful to know the brand and model of the printer. Sometimes this is caused by not returning the slide used to clean the primary corona wire to its original position (usually to the extreme left side of the toner cartridge) after cleaning the corona wire. If you haven't cleaned the corona wire, you should follow instructions and do that first.

I have a Dell 946 printer that is a couple of years old. It has started printing crooked on the pages. I have done the alighnment and that did not fix the problem. Can you help?

probably no much you can do the correct the problem because The problems that users encounter while using a Dell printer
varies with the model. However the common problems all Dell printer models suffer from are their slow speed and faulty paper feed mechanism. Quality of prints varies from one model to another, but most of the models do not produce prints having very fine qualities. A Dell printer is particularly notorious for its poor and faulty feed mechanism. They tend to cripple the papers or take in large number of papers at a time and print parts of documents on each page. They keep on generating messages indicating lack of paper, no matter the paper is being supplied or not. Such a problem makes the printer absolutely useless
