Question about Maytag Atlantis MDE6400AY Electric Dryer
It was running, then suddenly stopped...It's as though it's not receiving any power. I checked to be sure its plugged in and I flipped the breaker. Not sure if the people living in the house are cleaning the link screen, could this be causing the problem??
thanks for any help....
If lint screen is not cleaned, it can block air flow causing the unit to overheat and it should shut off on a safety. Usually a thermal activated device. I'm kinda thinking that's not whats going on though. When pushing the start button, this activates the "Start" circuit in the motor. Once the motor gets up to speed, usually in less than 1 second, it will continue to run. I would look in that direction. Either in the starting circuit or the motor itself.
