hum either a bad timer sticking the point contacts close. have u tried this in all cycles? and possibly a motor with bad windings not enough power to run agitation? try running in mild or gentle and see what happens? I was tempted to say the cam dogs in agitator but they dont work then stop then work, when they go out they go out.
My whirlpool heavy duty 2 speed 7 cycle washer machine stopped working, It fills up and aggitates for the first cycle then when it should drain and spin it doesnt drain nor spin
First you should remove the hoses and clean the screens in the ends of the hose, some hoses have screens in both ends. While the hoses are removed look inside the water inlet valve there should be a screen in there also remove and clean the screen out. Some screens will not be removable so you will need to clean in place or remove the water inlet valve. If all is clear you will need to check the solenoidson the water inlet valve for power. If the solenoid has power when put ina fill cycle and no water eneters your washer you will need to replace the water inlet valve. Most water inlet valves must be replaced as a unit, so if one solenoid fails you replace the hole valve assembly. These are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html that will walk you thru the testing procedure. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. If you need help disassembling there are also videos of disassembling most styles. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models will be available. All parts come with installation instructions.
First check the hoses to the machine. If they leak the water follows the hoses and drips on floor. Also check the hose connection at the washer. They will leak inside. Next it may well be a water pump going out or the plastic hose that is under pressure when operating. The pump is in the middle of machine underneth - Sorry - Good luck
Replace water pump. Common problem. Unscrew the control panel ,two screws on each end. Flip control panel over and unsnap gold brackets from base to the back. Lift up housing and disconnect lid switch, remove housing. The water pump is in the front lower that has two hoses , disconnect hoses and unsnap pump. My sister fixed hers in about 25 minutes.
Krom, sounds like the machine is syphoning. Check the drain hose and make sure there is a air gap and that it is not too far down the standpipe or drain. To test it hold the drain hose right at the drain top and see if the problem stops...Catriver...post back.
