My Gateway LCD Monitor was fine last night this morning to my surprise the screen was full of blue and white horizontal lines. I tried restarting the computer and then I couldn't even get it to turn on. Any ideas?

the lines mean you may need to have the bulb changed. The bulb should last up to four years but sometimes you get a dud. It also depends on whether you bought the TV new or not. If that's the case, you don't know how long that TV ran each day or for how many days it was on display.
gateway only offer a year on warranty so i'm afraid your past that.
it may be a cheap fix from the right technician.
if you call a few tv repair places they will be cheaper than pc repairers. tell them the problem and they will be able to assist you in getting a repair.
