Question about Brother Sewing Machines
I messed up the automatic needle threader and the hook is no longer going through the eye of the needle. I've tried bending the middle hook to the right, but the entire 'system' seems to need to go to the right more. I can't find where I would need to screw/unscrew anything to help move it...any suggestions?
You can get a new (grey) threader inexpensively that pushes on the bottom of the threader shaft from a dealership. Easy to do it yourself or they can do it in 5 or 10 minutes. Try taking the old one off and looking at it. It pulls right off.

You are threading the top of the machine incorrectly.
Make sure the needle is in correctly with the flat side to the rear of the machine, make sure to thread the upper and lower portions of the machine correctly. If this does not solve your problem, please respond.

The small hook that passes through the eye of the needle is bent or broken. If it is only bent it can be straightened with a small screw driver. If it is broken it will need to be replaced. Most dealers can get this part for you for about $5.00

Use a magnifying glass to see if the little hook in the needle threader is bent so that it is not going through the eye of the needle. You might be able to gently bend it back with tweezers.
Make sure that your needle is in the upper most position when you try and the presser foot is down.
