My HP Pavilion is running slow now, fairly new. How do I fix it?

Alright so this is what happened. My laptop was taken away from me for about a month, once I got it back it started running slow. I even restored it to before it was doing this. It didn't do much. But I bought my HP Pavilion dv4-111nr Entertainment Notebook PC only about 3 month ago. My laptop was left alone for month it was gone. Not touched or anything but when I opened it. It was very slow and I found it very awkward. I did a system check, and it passed. I don't know what to do. Please help me! and Thank You! if you can help or take the time to help me. :]

Well, download speed has decreased. Yes opening app's is slow. Everything should be fine. I really don't know whats wroung this first time this has happened. I have 3g of RAM and duel-core my laptop used to be pretty fast with no lagg or delay, now it take a bit longer to open apps running things is slow. I updated my computer in the 1 month absence that occord.

I did disk cleanup didn't help much. For my internet problems. I deleted my cookies. Opening IE is a bit fast now. I also did a system check and it passed. But the probem still exists. HP health check detects something but it's minor and only phising filter. I did a virus scan and the only thing it oculd find was a traking cookie and that was fixed.

And I don't think I got a virus. (becuase I did reformat yesterday) My lapto was turned off, and wasn't used for about a month.

Is the reaction time slow like opening up apps? Is it reading all the ram installed? And if all that is fine then there might be a program in the backround taking up your memory

Increase RAM to max permitted. Check HD for free space; 10% must be free for file swapping plus another 10% must be free for Recycle Bin. When HD is overfilled the system slows down. Run Registry Cleaner and click FIX ALL. Uninstall software that is never used Run Disk Optimizer. Reboot. Done.

My HP Pavilion dv6 WW146AV runs hot!

In order to address this the unit must be taken apart, remove fan and clean with compressed air, next remove the heat sink, four spring loaded screws turn one "small amount" go diaganal do the same and the next two until removed from the processor ic, blow out any dirt, next remove old silicon grease with rubbing alcohol, apply fresh thermal grease to the ic and heat sink "small amount" and assemble. This will solve most issues.

Slow shutdown HP Pavilion dv7

There are a number of reasons that may causing your HP computer running slow to shut down or start up, but generally two factors: outdated hardware or poor system maintenance. For hardware part: you can get more RAM, higher CPU etc. For system part: there might be a lot of junk files, caches, errors etc out there, about 80% slow HP issues are caused by this reason, in this case you can rely on http://www.speeduphp.com/ to free detect and fix related issues. Vertical white line on laptop display

Yes, this is a defective screen. The only fix is to replace the screen. It's called a column of dead pixels. Since it is under warranty, contact HP to have them warranty it out or take it back to the place you purchased it from for an exchange. Please take a moment and give this answer a good rating of fixya. Thank you.

It seems that batterie doesn't work but my laptop doesn't say that. It looks like everything is alright. But every time when I want to unplluged it,it turns off by itself. I bought my laptop 9 months...

This happened to me before with my lenovo. In my case buying a new battery fixed the problem. My laptop was about 7 months old. Another possiblity could be that the contacts between your battery and computer are messed up. Or that your motherboard's messed up. I would hedge on the first problem though...
