We had the copier set up to where we could scan and it would be loaded into our computer, but this morning, our dsl went down and when it came back up, the path was gone and now it will not scan into the...

Please appreciate the complexity of your question. There are many questions I would need to ask in order to be TRULY effective. I don't mind trying. I must assume that you were scanning to email otherwise your internet service provider's downtime would have no affect on scanning merely to a file on your pc. If indeed you feel confident that the ISP's downtime caused the problem then call them and tell them what happened. Many ISP's are making changes (like your SMTP port which handles email) and are not effectively informing customers. When they do this (and the "downtime" makes me wonder) it will stop your ability to scan to email. They are changing the SMTP port in an effort to minimize spam and maximize security. All well and good. But if they have and you either were not informed or missed the heads up then they need to help you. And they will. It ain't fun dealing with customer service (pinheads) but its free and it is their obligation. However, if you are scanning DIRECTLY to a file on your pc, no email, then your ISP did nothing to tamper with that.

Printer was stuck in "offline" mode, so deleted it

This is not Printer or PC USB port issue.

You need to drain the power from PC.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue

1. Disconnect the printer power cord from walljack or surge protector
2. Disconnect the USB cable of printer from PC or vice versa
3. Power off your PC, Disconnect the power cord from wall jack
4. Wait for 5-10 mins
5. Connect the PC power cord and power on the PC and wait till you are able to login to your PC
6. Connect the Printer power cord
7. Connect the USB cable to PC or vice versa you disconnected.

This should resolve the issue.

My printer will flash with a windows suggestion bubble saying it can connect faster if I connect to another port but as soon as this happens it stops printing?? Please help.

The port in which is now connected is most likely a USB1 . If you would connect it in a USB2 (same connector but with a different chip servicing it - if your pc has them) you would get a real speed increase. But do that when both the pc and the printer are closed. Doing that when the printer is working is a sure way of trashing it beyond repair.

My computer goes off line when I plug epson bx300f in the phone port of an adsl filter, what is the problem I cannot see an answer any where.

very strange , can happen in saying that. the printer checks the line wiht a signal some thing like the broadband, there for will interupt the conection, you would think with a filter it would be ok, but nope some printers disagree with broadband over dsl connections,..

Only sugestion i can think of is use another port in the building with another filter , hope this helps in some way.

I can not get my printer to print documents from computer it acts like its not there it was printing before then something happened and now it want do anything off the computer.

The correct port has to be selected. The port is determined by how the printer is connected to the computer. Re-install your CD & follow the directions based on how the printer is connected to the PC. I have the same printer connected to several PCs using USB. Therefor I select the USB port in properties.

Tallygenicom 8008 not recognised in xp

I do not think there was a driver version 1.5 for the 8008 I believe only one version of driver was released for the 8008 for XP this was version 1.00
I think your search for later driver will be fruitless.TallyGenicom went Chapter 11 and are no more, I think thwy were taken over by dascom ( who now sell Tally Dot Matrix printers.

I think your best option would be to check how the pritner is connected.
If connected via USB ensure the printer is correctly plugged in, make sure you have the USB cable connected to the USB port on the printer NOT the network port (it happens!!)
Plug the printer into a different USB port on the PC in case there is problem with the particular port.

Try a test page from the printer driver once you have installed it, see what errors you get.

If the printer is networked, ensure you can PING the IP Address, in the printer driver ADD A STANDARD TCP/IP port to print to the printers IP Address.

Post any errors or specific problems you see, how the pritner is connected we may be able to help some more.

New Dell Inspiron connected to HP 820Cse printer. Won't print.

I've not worked with one of these cables before, but here's what I would do: Right-click on the printer icon and go to properties. You'll be looking for the tab that says "ports." Open that tab and see what port the computer thinks it's using for the printer. Chances it says it's using a parallel port, but it is in fact, using a USB port. I can't tell you which to choose without looking at what you see, but I think you might find one that makes reference to a USB port with a parallel connection of some type. Try clicking on that and see if your situation improves.

Al-1540 only scans, wont print says-data could not be sent to pri

it seems that the computer was trying to send the data to the printer through the wrong port. i went to the control panel in windows xp, and selected printers and scanners. and added a new printer (manually) as al-1540 cs on usb port 2. it alerted me that the software was not signed, i proceeded anyways. it asked if i wanted to keep the original printer , i said yes. and the test page printed away. so i would suggest people with similar problem to keep adding multiple copies of the printer again and again on usb ports 1,2,3... etc till it prints the test page. use the copy no. indicated in the printed test page to do all your print jobs in the future.

Cable for hp photosmart 5180 three in one printer

Go to your local computer store or a Big W if you got one there and buy a standard USB printer cable. It has a small plug that plugs into your printer and a larger plug that plugs into your PC.

Is the printer connected via USB or a printer cable to the LPT1 port? Make sure the Port setting in the properties of the printer are set to the correct port. If the printer is plugged into the USB port but the properties say it is on the LPT1 port. the cpmputer will think it is sending something to the printer but the printer doesnt know it.
